"We define this 'sanctions resolution' rigged up by the U.S. and its followers as a grave infringement upon the sovereignty of our Republic, as an act of war violating peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the region and categorically reject the 'resolution,'" it said.
"There is no more fatal blunder than the miscalculation that the U.S. and its followers could check by already worn-out 'sanctions' the victorious advance of our people who have brilliantly accomplished the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force," the ministry said.
Other aspects of the sanctions include all North Korean nationals working abroad having to return to the country within 24 months, and a ban on North Korean exports of goods such as machinery.

I saw terrible things in Pyongyang,” she said, noting that 11 musicians were killed in front of her after being accused of making a porn video. “We were ordered to leave our classes by security men and made to travel to the Military Academy in Pyongyang. There is a sports ground there, a kind of stadium.”
It was there that she said the musicians were tied up, hooded and brought out before 10,000 people who had been assembled to watch. Then, the individuals were abused and killed right in front of her.
“What I saw that day made me sick in my stomach. They were lashed to the end of anti-aircraft guns,” she said. “A gun was fired, the noise was deafening, absolutely terrifying and the guns were fired one after the other. The musicians just disappeared each time the guns were fired into them. Their bodies were blown to bits, totally destroyed, blood and bits flying everywhere.”
Lim continued, “And then after that military tanks moved in and they ran over the bits on the ground where the remains lay.”

Am I reading this thread correctly...?
An oppressive regime in North Korea of the worst kind is trying to get Nuclear weapons and threatening the world with using them. The North Korean govt is already imprisoning it's people even on suspcision of disent and rounding up families. Children are born in prison. Families are watching executions of their loved ones. They are already forced to east rodents and grass in these prisons.
...and America are the bad guys for pushing sanctions?????
You've lost your mind OP.
Come on have you seen the good life in North Korea and the malls there. Do you realize that NK has dipilomates in almost every country including the Philippines. They are part of the world community . #te man, even Japan welcomes them to build more of the pachinko parlors here.
North Koreans wouldn't have to eat grass or be starving like they have been for decades under a psychotic dynastic regime who spends all its money on the elite, army and weapons development etc. Surely their priority should be the feeding of the people. This regime is brutal and the worst state imposed brain washing control of a nations people on the planet.

This is the situation that almost every country in the world faces in my view. If you oppose the United States in a serious manner, you'll be crushed in one way or another unless you're a superpower.
More North Koreans than ever are going to starve to death so that their country can survive as a sovereign entity. Their choice is either accepting U.S. hegemony or limping along as a starving, hopelessly impoverished nation.
Putin said North Koreans would eat grass rather than give up their nuclear ambitions. It looks like that theory is about to be tested.
The scary thing to me is that all of this makes North Korea the equivalent of a cornered, wounded animal.

It's another defiant response from the North but I suspect little will change , the Trump administrations confrontational approach to the problem has led us to deadlock which will no doubt see the launch of another missile in the coming days as an act of defiance.
At least South Korea are looking at ways to diffuse the tension but I agree with Putin , Kim will not give up his defense due to threats and pressure.
Let them nuclearise the Korean Peninsula and allow a psychotic regime to hold the world to ransom. Now that would be wise................NOT!

Ok , what is your solution to NK then , Russia or China could have vetoed the sanctions but they did not . America bad , NK misunderstood , blah blah blah .
China has to help with this but it will only happen by force. Don't think Kimmy would let China just roll in but who knows.

Remove the regime.
Led to a deadlock???? It defies belief that people like yourself could actually just regurgitate that nonsense.
There has been zero progress on North Korea for years

You say that while advocating regime change .... Lol.
It's armchair generals like yourself who spout nonsense , you have no understanding of the situation.

Trump has led us to the brink of war , people in the region are genuinely concerned ... is that progress ?
Are you an actual General then?
