First of all I would like to apologise if this is in the wrong area, if it is please feel free to switch it to the current place

Now I finally took the decision to plunge into meditation of the 3rd eye (pineal gland) tonight. And wow I must say I don’t know if it is normal or not because it was the first time I have ever meditated. And I can’t really see anything on the internet about people’s first time experiences.

Let me get started; I didn’t go for your conventional sitting up position as I was lay on the bed already going through YouTube watching random videos. Then I decided to finally get a video of 3rd eye awakening music up...

A friend of mine taught me a tip to increase the energy by focusing on my heart imagining it being connected to my 3rd eye up the back of my neck and head and to the front. Then to focus by looking up at the middle of my forehead.

Now I did this and about 4 minutes into meditation I reached my 3rd eye. I never thought I could instantly switch off my mind, I have heard about people that can’t turn off their thoughts but it came easy to me and immediately I had a vibration feeling through all of my body, all over it was slightly uncomfortable but stayed focused on my 3rd eye.

Next came a tingling feeling all over my body, this wasn’t uncomfortable like the vibrations this almost felt sexual and was an amazing feeling that I didn’t want to end.

But as soon as it stopped I could see the room as clear as day through my eyelids it was so weird like definately had my eyes closed because as the room became clearer I focused on closing my eyes more as I thought I was opening them but I wasn’t!!

Finally the weirdest of all was when I ended, I “woke” from my meditation and opened my eyes to find that’s all the colours in the room seemed so might brighter than normal and had an overwhelming feeling of happiness like I’d never felt before. I couldn’t move I lay there and tried but it felt like I was physically paralysed I have read about how people have had bad experiences from this feeling but mine wasn’t.

It was wonderful, I could see everything much clearer everything seemed so alive including myself and I could feel pure energy around me. One of the best experiences I have ever had.

The reason to me writing this post is I’d like some insight into what I experienced and how I experienced all this on my first time of meditation?

In total I only meditated for about 12 minutes, so wasn’t a long session.

When you say 3rd Eye, are you talking about the pineal gland or something else?

If its the gland, do you have a diet to avoid calcification of it?

Make sure You stay off the tap water if Your Municipality adds 'Fluoride' to the water supply and if You get 'rusty' You can do some 'Sungazing' either the first hour of Sol or the last hour. If You're like Me and Your current ecological niche is the "Deep South" I'd opt for the evening shift, as looking East at first light might get You harassed...

Know You know where they got "Deep Purple" from...

Enjoy Your trip...

Congrats! That's a nice accomplishment.

The more you practice this, the better your body will respond. Eventually you'll get to a point where you'll feel that occasional buzzing in the center of your forehead even when you're not engaged in meditation.

Ever try binaural beats?

I was typing a reply and didn't see Your query but... You can de-calcify the Pineal Gland by 'Sungazing' either the first hour or last hour of Sunlight. I'm up to 71 seconds.

I told My optician about My Sungazing and She didn't bat an eye (yuck, yuck) My eye exams have been 20/25 but I'm also 54. I was at 20/10

I forgot to bring that up! Sungazing is definitely effective. However I've found it useful beyond just the first and last hour of sunlight. Looking directly at the sun when it's midday with your eyes closed seems to have effects on me.

Different times of the year make for differences in the sun's strength though.

When you sun gaze, do you look directly at the sun?

I spend quite a bit bass fishing here in Flori-Duh so it is easier to pull off a "double header"...

If You get near/on any water, close the eyes and allow the reflections to "beat" on You.. Like Your "binaural beats" but the water reflecting Sol is doing it, plus the natural waves has "Win/Win" all over it...

Good point. This may sound a bit silly, but an effective method for me is either riding in a car or train ( not being the actual driver ) and letting the sunlight hit your eyelids while passing by trees. It makes for a more an intense, repeated stimulation as the sun's rays fluctuate at a rapid pace.

Hopefully that helps!

Wow, 12 minutes, good on you. That's fast-tracking..

But as soon as it stopped I could see the room as clear as day through my eyelids

I believe Sadhguru experienced the same thing....
