But last week, Hatmaker broke from her evangelical base, telling Religion News Service columnist Jonathan Merritt that she supports same-sex marriage and believes LGBT relationships can be holy. Such statements followed a social media post this April in which Hatmaker called for LGBT inclusion in churches. Her recent comments prompted LifeWay Christian Stores, the large Southern Baptist bookseller that published her 2012 bestseller “7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess,” to discontinue selling her Bible studies and books.

Still pretty messed up of them don't you think? I assure you that legal marriage and the marriage in the bible are two totally different things but a lot of Christians like to conflate them into the same thing.

Were these Alleged " Death Threats " a Result of his Publicized Personal Beliefs , or Directly Related to his Opinion of Our Current President ?

It is messed up, people should not threaten other because of their opinions and the definitely shouldn't be threatened just because someone wants to marry someone of the same sex.

This could be a good topic on its own, it didn't need the Trump lie to sell the story, in my opinion it should be tossed in the bin.

What's the problem?

You take a stand against abortion = death threats.

You're against welfare without drug testing = death threats.

You like Scooby Doo over Benjy = Death threats.

We're a society of armchair warriors hiding behind out online presence.

So what. I've received death threats lately and all I can say?

If you're going to kill me? Why did you warn me, lol!

Maybe after you digest your home delivered pizza and 2 liter of Sprite you'll find someone else to threaten - trying to give yourself some balls where non ever even began to develop.

Your own link doesn't support the claim of your OP.

Then, in an interview with Religion News Service columnist Jonathan Merritt, she made what was a stunning admission for her evangelical community: She said she supported same-sex relationships.

That’s when the full weight of conservative Christian outrage crashed down on Hatmaker.

Seems the returning of her books, etc, was as a result of that admission, and had nothing to do with whether or not she supported Trump for president. Where is her proof of any death threats? The article only mentions that at the start, and offers not a single example of such a threat. Her claims of people "pulling aside her children" (and no mention of how old they are, or even if they are still "children"), are anecdotal, and unsubstantiated. As for her being "influential", I never heard of her.

Seems like she's lost book sales, and is looking to play the victim as another way of gaining revenue.

So many mini-mods.

Apparently the forces of censorship, control and those that would purge alternate opinions are still active on the boards.

Merry Christmas

It has nothing to do with censorship, it's about the truth.

There's nothing new about it. Those within Christendom have always been as hypocritical as an average Darwinist inquisitor going after those in what they refer to as the "scientific community" (community of philosophers in love with philosophical naturalism) who do not toe the party line.

Odin is their word for God. Like Allah, it means the same thing, just a different culture.
Son of Odin, Thor would be their Savior.

The worship of gods guns and Girls.

Woman-to-woman, your constant repetition of this 'gods, gun, girls' line makes me feel like a political pawn in a partisan pissing contest where neither contestant genuinely gives a flying fig about women with regard to sexual harassment & sexual assault.

I think if it was not so recently that I've seen you take up this line of attack, it wouldn't be such a turn-off. Reads as insincere...exploitative. I don't like it. I'm sure you don't care, but there it is.
