STP have had a rough go the past little bit. First Losing Scott when they went separate ways, then they lost his on tour replacement- Chester
Bennington in July to suicide.
After scouring over 15,000 online audition submissions,
STP Have found their new lead singer!
The funny thing is though, he didn't need to submit an audition.
STP searched him out after hearing about him from Detroits rock scene.
His name is Jeff Gutt.
To say he can perform STPs songs live would be an understatement.
I just listened to a couple tracks from the concert they held in LA the other night and am very impressed with how much he sounds like Weiland.
Uncanny really.
He can hit all the notes and adds a bit of his own flare.
That concert was meant as a sort of unveiling of their new singer.
And For those of us that missed it, Sirius radio will be broadcasting the show: Live at the Troubadour,
on the channel Lithium, Friday nov 17 and Saturday the 18th.
Check out their new single "Meadow" and tell me what you think.
I know no one can ever replace the legend that was Scott Weiland- God rest his soul, but Jeff Gutt is the next best thing.
So before passing any judgement, please give him a chance and listen to the single.
I know all the true STP fans here will enjoy it.
The set list for the concert on Lithium is as follows:
Down
Wicked Garden
Vasoline
Coma
Interstate Love Song
Plush
Big Empty
Still Remains
Meadow
Kick Out The Jams
Sex Type Thing
Trippin’
Piece of Pie
Down and Trippin on a paper heart are my all time favourites.

Bumped for content AND attitude..
good track, tighter'n a snake's hips.
The Gutt may have to gargle with some Jack and
a couple rusty razor blades for 'Vasoline' and 'Plush':
but I really like how easily he can hit the tall ones.
