If we ban lobbying then how will small groups get the attention a problem deserves? What if your church group wants to petition a Governor to move a road because too many kids are getting hit by cars leaving Sunday School? Shouldn't they be allowed to lobby him to sign off on an upcoming spend?

Lobbying CAN be a good thing.

I think when people talk about lobbying on a scale that resembles what happens in D.C. they're more or less talking about the millions of dollars lobbyists throw at politicians. Lobbying is fine when money, or other perks arent involved. The "lobbying" that happens is nothing short it bribery if you ask me. What happened to swaying someones opinions based on facts, logic, passion? Now its "Lets throw a million dollars at so-and-so and they'll support our "cause."
