Do you think video games and violence on TV creates violence in society too?

it’s no secret that pornography tends to ignore the woman’s pleasure and focus strictly on what pleases the man.

Really? I would think is all about the super endowed, erection on command male that drives every women they are with to an endless stream of multi organisms. Isn't this the fantasy every male would want? What about the large increase in female focused porn too?

My response was to the suggestion that males should take drugs to limit their Libidos....

Your response was to imply porn was a viable alternative to taking tetesterone lowering drugs, in fact, it would do the opposite and perhaps cause even more misconduct...

In fact..lol just because you say "in fact" doesn't make it "in fact". You want to take the male out of male and create what? How about having women take a drug that greatly enhances their Libido....

You didn't answer my question...

Do you think video games and violence on TV creates violence in society too?

Yes, if the numerous, decades-long studies say it's fact, then it is a fact. Take the entitlement out of the male/female and make a person respectful of others.

I don't play video games nor watch extreme violence on TV, so I can only go with what the researchers have to say, that being ... it could under certain conditions;

A 2010 review by psychologist Craig A. Anderson and others concluded that “the evidence strongly suggests that exposure to violent video games is a causal risk factor for increased aggressive behavior, aggressive cognition, and aggressive affect and for decreased empathy and prosocial behavior.” Anderson’s earlier research showed that playing violent video games can increase a person's aggressive thoughts, feelings and behavior both in laboratory settings and in daily life. "One major conclusion from this and other research on violent entertainment media is that content matters," says Anderson.

Other researchers, including psychologist Christopher J. Ferguson, have challenged the position that video game violence harms children. While his own 2009 meta–analytic review reported results similar to Anderson’s, Ferguson contends that laboratory results have not translated into real world, meaningful effects. He also claims that much of the research into video game violence has failed to control for other variables such as mental health and family life, which may have impacted the results. His work has found that children who are already at risk may be more likely to choose to play violent video games. According to Ferguson, these other risk factors, as opposed to the games, cause aggressive and violent behavior.

Ive played violent video games all my life and watched hyper violent japanese anime and horror films
and Ive never been in a serious fight or been in jail or even offended someone in public
Im 35 years old
and believe that I am a compassionate human being towards others and animals

and you know why because I have the brain function in place to tell the difference between fantasy and reality
so I know that video games , movies , anime are all fantasy
and that I know violence is morally wrong

some people lack the part of their brain which does this

I dont think video games and movies are the determining factor, I think that real life is far more disturbing to children than a video game or a movie

their parents arguing or one abusing the other, people in the street fighting, people on the tv peddling "real world news" to induce fear and anxiety
real life is the problem, not entertainment video games

He did not just "ask them for sex". He asked if he could take out his penis, did it even though they didn't consent and then proceeded to masturbate in front of them.

They thought it was a joke and laughed it off. “And then he really did it,” Ms. Goodman said in an interview with The New York Times. “He proceeded to take all of his clothes off, and get completely naked, and started masturbating.”

C'mon now. You are completely misrepresenting his obscene behavior in a way that is bordering on obscene yourself.

If this is what you consider to be an appropriate way to ask for sex, be prepared to be talking to some poor woman's attorney soon.

Agreed, and there are plenty of individuals perfectly capable of handling that separation. Unfortunately, some people are unable or unwilling to see the difference between fantasy/reality, and violent music/movies/games/culture has an impact on them.

It is unfortunate that not everyone is capable of making this distinction. Of course this doesn't mean legislation is the answer either, because IMO it is not. Supporting better family values and bringing morality back are important steps.

Funny how they don't specify or give an example of a single video game in a market that has hundreds of thousands.

You have been blessed with excellent brain function as some of us can enjoy, but I fear you may be uncommon.

This needs to be seen for what it is. Its an outcome of ever increasing inovlvement in peoples lives by government.

Another word for this is government control.
