Wonder if any relation to the Schiff we all know...

The Carlyle Group bought half of Kroll....here's the Soros connection...

The one thing they sort of miss on is his wife, Sabina Menschel, who is not just some consultant, but the current head of the D.C. office of Nardello & Co. That's the top private-eye firm in the Beltway.

So the man the FBI has keeping all its secrets is married to the top private snoop in Washington.

It would be revealing, no doubt, to see what Democratic-affiliated law firms and media shops in D.C. use Nardello. Let's hope congressional investigators are looking into this.

Ms. Menshel, by the way, is the daughter and niece of Goldman Sachs zillionaire brothers Richard and Robert Menshel, big-time Democrat donors.

A $1.3 million infusion on behalf of Dan Roberti in the final days of a Democratic congressional primary has supercharged an already volatile race and renewed questions about how much of the cash is attributable to the candidate’s father, Washington power broker Vin Roberti.

The candidate loaned his campaign nearly $900,000 in recent weeks, a sizable sum for a 30-year-old with wages of $45,769 in 2010, plus between $50,001 and $100,000 in income from a family trust established by his father. A new super PAC whose donors include his father’s clients is spending $417,000 on his behalf.

“My father has definitely been helpful. He has introduced me to folks that have helped fundraising. He’s been very helpful,” Roberti said in an interview. “He gets more credit from some in the media, and definitely from my opponents, than he maybe necessarily deserves for it. It’s not all him.”

But Vincent A. Roberti Sr. is a hard man to overlook, even as he has stayed away from his son’s campaign events in Connecticut, while making introductions in Washington and New York. He cut a wide and ragged swath in Connecticut, replete with political battles, two marriages and two divorces, a bankruptcy and an acquittal on arson charges.

In fourth, with at least $221,400 isVincent A. Roberti Sr. A bundler for the DCCC, DSCC, and Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer of New York, Roberti is both chairman and CEO of Palisades Pictures, a Gotham-based company that finances print and advertising campaigns for independent films.
He is also founding principal at Navigators Global, an international lobbying and strategic communications firm. In that role, he lobbied for United Parcel Service Inc. recently on the FAA Reauthorization Act, specifically for a provision ensuring the right of express carrier employees to unionize; rival FedEx Corp. calls that provision a “bailout” for UPS. UPS, a union operation, would no doubt like to see non-union FedEx face the same labor pressures.
The House version of the bill contained the provision, with the support of the Democratic majority; the Senate version passed without it after Republicans threatened a filibuster.

The bill awaits a resolution of this and other House-Senate differences. Roberti also lobbied on behalf of AT&T Inc. for the broadband Internet provisions in the 2009 stimulus bill and on behalf of Citigroup Inc. in support of the Troubled Asset Relief Program — both enacted with strong majorities of House and Senate Democrats, including Schumer. Roberti did not respond to a request for a comment.

Vin Roberti has his fingers all over the globe and D.C., yet very few people know his name. He influences both American political parties as well as governments abroad.

For instance, Mr. Roberti serves as a senior advisor to Afghanistan’s reform presidential candidate Dr. Ashraf Ghani, a highly-regarded former World Bank official.

Roberti’s background is shady, so much so that his nickname when in the Connecticut legislature was “Dirty Roberti.”

For example, his Palisades Tartan Media corporation was accused of pedaling pornography when Palisades became the sole American distributor of an explicit British film called “9 Songs.”

Here he is shown with movie producer Harvey Weinstein. Roberti is connected to Hollywood and the liberal Catholic Alliance for the Common Good.

Amazingly, with this background (or maybe because of), he is a Trustee of “Catholic” Sacred Heart University.
