Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt tells us they are looking for someone, but cannot confirm if this is an active shooter situation. However, he did say "it could be a BB gun."

Reports vary between there being shots fire at either a nursing home or a church.

Live video news says shots were fired at a nursing home and the suspect then fled and has not been apprehended. No description. No word on if anyone was actually hit or if someone just randomly fired into the air/ground.

One can only wonder what's "active" about an "active shooter" that we've got one report of "man with a gun in a field" and "heard two shots" and now they can't find anybody actively shooting anything.

Smells an awful lot like the hypetrain is rolling full speed.

The shooting the other day occurred in the exact same county. Wilson county. What in the actual # is going on here. This is very close to my location...a little too close.

Edit: The sheriff made it very clear that media speculation was not welcome in the church shooting. If I were the cynical type, might entertain the theory that perhaps the media decided to hype something unrelated as a big # you to the Wilson county sheriff. When comes to the media these days, nothing is left off the table.
