www.foxnews.com...

Newly reported memos to Congress released Monday showed that language was softened between an early draft and the final copy of former FBI Director James Comey’s statement closing out the Hillary Clinton email case.

Originally Comey accused the former secretary of state of being “grossly negligent” in handling classified information in a draft dated May 2, 2016, but that was modified to claim that Clinton had been “extremely careless” in a draft dated June 10, 2016.

Comey stuck to that modified language when he announced in July 2016 that there would be no charges against Clinton.

Wonder why he changed it?

Maybe because: www.law.cornell.edu...

In my opinion, it was worse than gross negligence anyway.

It was planned and done for a reason, mainly to hide her dealings and subvert the FOIA requirements of the Secretary of State.

Maybe try reading the OP and look specifically to the sentences highlighted in red for your answer?

That is the point, that he DID NOT say it out loud. Instead he changed his words to not reflect the exact language in the criminal statue.

I dont know if Clinton is guilty of anything other than utter stupidity, however I know of people in the military who "leaked" both sensitive and Secret and even Top Secret information across SIPR and NIPR networks through email and attachments.

While they did not go to jail, their careers were finished and they dd recieve Non-Judicial punishment and barred reenlistment.

Did Comey break the law ? No, but it certainly raises questions. Did someone tell him to change the words in the memo, or even to not recommend charges ? To borrow a popular phrase from today, did the Obama administration collude to keep charges at bay ?

I at least make an attempt to be non partisan. If Trump or anyone associated with him committed a crime then lock them up, so far it appears that may not be the case, certainly not treason. Some are so blinded by their utter devotion to Clinton and the Democrat vaules that they are willing to overlook criminal acts.

And so... Loretta Lynch and Comey

"Just call it a matter"

It was in fact a Criminal Investigation with
a Grand Jury convened.

I'm so appauled by people who defend this behavior. If it was one of us plebs we would rot. If you want to know about privilege, Hillary Clinton is the poster child.

And, it's nice to see that you're finally coming around to the understanding of the statute that Hillary broke in her handling of the classified information for which she was entrusted the safekeeping of.

Btw, didn't this same information end up being found on Anthony Weiner's laptop?

The conversation was as follows:

AG Lynch: So Comey...about this Hillary matter...

Comey: The investigation? It is going...

AG Lynch: The Clinton matter, yes. I think we can agree that there was some extreme carelessness, correct?

Comey: Well, um, the statute says Gross Ne...

AG Lynch: Extreme Carelessness it is then, close the door on your way out, thanks.
