AT LEAST 200 people have reportedly been killed at Kim Jong-un’s nuclear test site in North Korea after a tunnel collapsed.

A North Korean official told a Japanese news agency the collapse occurred during the construction of a tunnel at the Pukyung nuclear test site in the northeast of North Korea on October 10.

Hundreds killed at North Korean nuclear base

There are also fears of a nuclear leak. Potentially large clouds of radioactive dust may be a danger to South Korea.

Looks like Kim's nuclear antics may be catching up with him.

I wonder how this will affect his ability to test nuclear weapons.

Without knowing who was in the tunnel, people digging the shaft, or scientists, it's going to be hard to say and I doubt they are ever going to give a full accounting.

Let's see how many people blame this on the United States.

This actually happened almost two weeks ago but with the way info is coming out of North Korea it makes sense we are just hearing it.

I doubt it will affect much.

Life is cheap in North Korea.

Heard a blurb on the radio that China stepped in to warn them to stop. Apparently another test could level the mountain area and cause a significant leak.

If they are just now building the tunnels, why would there be any radioactive material there?

Of course, our ultra secret space based laser cannon did it, though discretion is a must, so lets aim at some lowly tunnels...

I don't know of there's much to leak out of there, it supposedly a granite mountain but then again, we obviously don't know everything there is to know if this happened two weeks ago and it's just coming out now.

Dated the 27th:

The facility sits some 50 miles from the Chinese border. Chinese scientists told a North Korean delegation last month that ongoing tests could blow off the top of the mountain, leading to a catastrophic collapse, according to the South China Morning Post. Radioactive waste could also seep through holes and cracks in the facility.

www.ibtimes.com...

Yea, there's no telling how much they have, or not, or how much devastation it could cause.

Someone has to fix this problem. Where's Rodman when you need him?

I am satisfied that the Chinese likely know far more about it than we ever will.

I would hope so, it's their trailer park trash neighbor.

I'm guessing new tunnels in an pre-existing test site under the mountain. In all likelihood, they'd have to build/re-build tunnels after each test is done... obviously blowing up a nuclear bomb would at the least partially destroy the old ones, right?

There are times when I wish I was a Mod so I could either give people applause or ban them

You would get both.
