Trump is a weirdo.
Trump is like an old time Democrat. Like a Lyndon Johnson.

Obama is something else. He is un American to the core. He is a fake person in a fake marriage. He has a fake name and faked his way to the whitehouse with expressed fake values and opinions. He is a fake heterosexual, which means he doesn't care to be honest, and support what he believes in outwardly. In other words... He is a coward, a liar, a deceiver, and an intelligent dishonest human, with alterior motives unknown to those who worship the ground he walks on

We need to eliminate the 'for profit' portion of this health scam. Let's get rid of health insurance and focus on health care.

You are exactly correct.

Glad we can agree.

This is why we need a single payer system. The healthcare companies are NOT serving the customer's interests.

President Trump is aware that the entire medical system, from health insurer, to hospital, to pharmaceuticals, are world-class ripoffs.

A Single-Payer system would pay them less money, but would they accept it?

Yes he is right. Trump cant do this alone and Barack intentionally did this for the insurance companies to profit. Make us buy something illegally and fine us illegally if we do not obey the authoritarian freaks

The systems "legs" are not going to last. The system needed to be corrected when Obama created the ACA, but he kicked the can down the road.

The ACA is doomed. The system was doomed before the ACA as it does nothing to address cost. There are systems around the world that does it better and much much cheaper.

That’s very true, but the attitude of the GOP was and is not conducive to creating a system that works because they don’t want to do what's necessary. They don’t want to bite the bullet and do a program that works.

So the dems had to do it themselves in 2010 and the corporate dems at the time, two of them, the senator from Arkansas and Joseph Lieberman prevented a better plan from enacting in 2010.

Not a Trump tax. A GOP tax for sure. I think they are cutting the heads off of the insurance racket that is going on. This kind of thing didn't happen until Obama and the Dems/GOPs #biggovernment, thought it would be a good idea to get in on the scam. I am glad to watch it burn. It shows just how many of our representatives really don't give a damn about the citizens.

To be honest, the faulty ObamaCare "scheme" was devised and implemented by Democrats. Republicans bear the blame now, because they didn't repeal it, when they had it in their power to do so. Even the bills that crashed and burned over the Summer were NOT true ObamaCare repeal bills.

Obama is very intelligent!
This was his game plan from day one. Who is being suckered in.

How can you believe that after 7 years of promising better. I really believe that If there was a better Market system, somebody would have figured it out after 7 years.

To hell with the "market" and how much money they suck out of our economy. Other countries have better universal Healthcare for all of their citizens for a lesser percent of their GDP. Why don't we have that? Why does Healthcare have to be a for profit venture that consumes 20% of our GDP? As with education, throwing money at the problem hasn't solved it.

I work in a small non-profit community hospital. It's HORRIBLE!

I don't see anything changing until PROFIT is taken out of this equation. If you have insurance, your insurance company with "settle" your bill down to cents on the dollar. If you only need $500 for a CT don't charge $5000 and then make people negotiate. It should cost $500 for EVERYONE!

Got news for everyone, the politicians do not work for you, they work for the medical lobby. Both DEMS AND REPUBS.

Making excuses for the dems is the same as making excuses for the repubs. And seems like I am hearing excuses for the crap fest ACA.

With President Trump publicly "calling out" health insurance companies, more Americans are starting to realize this.

The U.S.A. is one of the most prosperous countries on Earth. There's no FINANCIAL reason why this nation can't bear the cost of providing world-class healthcare to every citizen.

President Trump is a proponent of "Single Payer". We'll see if he wants to tackle that after the Tax-Cuts are implemented.

The point is the nation doesn't NEED to shoulder the cost. STOP THE COST. Why are the mark ups so high? It used to be said it was because that is where research money came from. Well research is quickly being fazed out for the fancy lobby...so why the markup?

Even had the Republicans supported the ACA, it was still doomed. We still would have ended up where we are with big premiums and big deductibles.

The ACA has some basics that should continue, but it wasn't the solution. We can all do better.

It's never been cheap to stay in a hospital. That doesn't mean it doesn't have to be this expensive.

Some mentioned how people yearn for a time before Obamacare. That was a terrible, terrible time for millions and millions of Americans. A brief recollection:

* Dying because you can't afford the insurance

* Millions going bankrupt every year from medical bills, this still happens but on a much lower scale

* Health insurers dropping your coverage when you get sick and make a claim

Obamacare is not great and for some people, it's very expensive. The system we had before though? There is no reason to go back to that.

Man Kills Self as City Watches

In one of the most graphic and bizarre events ever to unfold on a Los Angeles freeway, a man with a gripe against HMOs parked his pickup truck on a busy freeway intersection Thursday afternoon, set it ablaze and then committed suicide--on live television--creating a nightmarish, miles-long traffic jam during the evening commute.

For profit means every quarter there MUST be an increase in profits. That means cheapen products and/or less service and/or higher costs and/or tech takes over.

This is a universal truth and I wonder if a medical system should be for profit.

Again, I agree. Obama was originally going to push for a single-payer plan and decided to compromise, opting to go for a Right Wing plan created by the Heritage Foundation instead.

He sold us out for the sake of profit.

That is why the GOP could not come up with a better plan. Obama took their plan out from underneath them.

But as the other member said, there should be no profit motive in health care.

It should be about life, not money.

Then he should be proposing that rather than that disaster of the Republican plan. I don't like how he supported the Mcconnell- Ryan piece of trash proposal.

America overall would support a plan like Single Payer with optional bells and whistles or something like Sanders Medicare for all. Everything else has failed, I'm ready to give it a shot. If Trump wanted to be bold he would try to reach out and work with Sanders for a Great, truly Great plan.

You'd get enough from both sides of the aisle to pass it eaisly if it actually was a deal with input from both sides. But no, both sides would rather dicker.

Yes, it appears he lied, along with many that parroted the same line.

He should have stuck with the single-payer aspect. But on the other hand he did do us a service by showing us the Right Wing plan was a disaster waiting to happen. Now even many on the Right are calling for a SP or UHC plan.

That is a huge plus.
