California has been battling a multitude of serious fires as many of you know. Help has been coming in from many sources to battle this multi front
issue, to which we owe gratitude.
Last night a new fire front opened up north of Santa Cruz in the city of Boulder Creek.
As of Tuesday evening, the Bear Fire had burned 200 acres of densely forested land, destroyed four structures, and caused no casualties beyond
five firefighters who suffered minor to moderate injuries traversing the steep terrain. In the latest report from the command center, the official
containment level was at 5 percent.
A few positive points are that this fire is still relatively small, it doesn't threaten many structures at this point, and the winds are light as
compared to the fires in the North Bay.
The worry is in that this fire is in the middle of a big forest and with low humidity and much dry timber, combined with inaccessible blazes due to
terrain, could lead to a serious forest fire.
To add, 5 fire fighters have been injured, but are ok. One fell down a 50 feet hill and broke his wrist.
As always, my prayers go to everyone dealing with these fires and effects, and thanks to the fire fighters and other support groups.
