I saw something similiar, too, but days ago. Probably 4chan or some other joksters. Maybe also a hedge fund or other institutional investor trying to buy in but got rejected. I think they really mean "private individual".

BTW, the Russians pose as grey aliens according to the first Sekret Machines book. There is a scene where a woman is abducted and she manages to break free, punches the Grey in the face and his mask comes off. A small statured Russian in disuguise :-) But the book does not elaborate what the Russians intend with this type of endeavor.

That is probably not real at all.
When doing a drive for $$$$$ you make it look like you've already gotten millions of dollars to make your cause seem legit.
People see you have momentum and feel better about sending cash because they think you have enough to make a difference.

It's far less inspiring to send someone $200 when so far they have $17.50.
So if they don't make any more money then the $217.50 they have isn't going to forward the cause at all. Your money will then pay his cable and phone bill for the month.

This Tom D dude must think the Rogan podcast listeners are all complete idiots.

As the one who started this thread, I tend to look at Tom DeLonge's endeavor more positively than others.
But I agree that critical thinking is important with such extraordinary claims. This video is an interesting effort to point out the weaknesses in this story.

Either Tom DeLonge and his team of experts are the real deal and will soon be revealing through the help of your donations the most powerful technologies the world has ever seen. Or, what is happening to Tom DeLonge is the same thing that happened to Paul Benewitz, from the mind of CIA operative Richard Doty.

I see differences between the Benewitz story and DeLonge, but I understand why people are (rightfully) sceptical.

Colleges, corporations, and militaries are spend billions to develop powerful technologies, but Tom’s going to beat them to the punch, best them at their own game, with a few million dollars?
