Apart from my opinion about the OP, just a sidenote: you might be confusing 'clock' with 'time'. Time is time, and it flows regardless of clocks. Detroying all clocks would not stop time.
Still, you can use a clock to see 'where' in time you are. Likewise, astrologers use the position of (virtual!) planets and stars to determine influences on people, places or events. It are not the planets / stars that influence - you won't find many modern astrologers that believe this - it is merely that there is a strong correlation between the calculation of their position and whatever causes the influence.
