The source seems to be the Daily Caller and World Net Daily (a site that ATS has said is so full of misinformation that it's not linked here.)

The ones doing the calling are the "Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement " who don't seem to be very prominent or powerful players in any movement, judging from their website. Nor do they seem to be very numerous.

Considering the sources, seems like this is going to be a nothing burger. Or at least it may be more isolated cases.
In the past some areas have turned to not observing Columbus day, and or have changed it to Indigenous Peoples' Day. Either way that seems more fitting than some kind of rage against statues, if calls for places to remove them don't work.
