I'm going the same route, except I have the opposite problem. We are selling our house, have been trying to for over a year now. I already have my "forever home", we have been working on the house and the property for that same period of time. It's ready to go, but I still have not sold my house yet. I have had two supposedly "great" realtors, and with the last one, I had 2 offers, but they both fell through due to no funding. The first one took my place off the market for the entire month of June and most of July. We are trying to go for sale by owner now, so I can drop the price more and hopefully get a damn buyer.

If anyone wants a super nice house in eastern NC, I've got it. 4 bed, 3.5 bath on a golf course.

Good luck in your search. I focused on the land and figured I could repair the house, which is what I did. I plan to do a thread on it when I do move, if we ever move.

Good luck to you, and yea, you will find your plot of ground. I found ours on Craigs list. Maybe you can try that?

Be careful though and familiarize yourself with codes and regs, many of which may mandate minimum size for water well and septic tank. If you're on a budget, look for a piece of ground that already has a water well and septic. Also, if you are on a budget, check Morgan Buildings to get you started. www.morganusa.com...

Ha, ha, yea, some in Texas would call that Heaven, except instead of sand, we're talking rocks and scrub brush and cactus and probably 3 or 4 herd of Axis deer. I hunt with a handfull of corn and a ball peen hammer.

why does everyone take their pictures with overcast conditions or right after a rain! COME ON REALTORS!

Beware of those properties with pictures after a rain--sometimes that is a tactic that hides issues with roofing or pavement and concrete. Also, it's best to take pictures when the sky has clouds covering the sky, as it allows a better range of details between shadows and highlights--direct sunlight causes issues when taking pictures of structures, but is better for taking pictures of actual land (IMO).

Just my two cents. Good luck finding what you're looking for--patience is a virtue, and the Fed didn't raise rates, so you don't need to rush to get your house sold before mortgage rates go up.
