He was super awesome,

But not as awesome as my grandfather, i just came home from the hospital, amazing how different a dead body is compared to a living person, if i had seen him somewhere else, i would not have known, that he was my grandfather.

Harry Dean Stanton was pretty cosmic, in his own unassuming way. I was very glad he got a part in the last season of Twin Peaks.

Its amazing he lived as long as he did considering his lifestyle. He always brought a lot to any role and his screen presence was formidable. Another great one gone, sad news.

I was always remember him as the man who got killed by the alien while looking for a cat.

Damn that is too bad. There are many iconic people from films and media that we just take for granted will always be there or be there after we die at least. That is so not the case obviously, and before too terribly long people we may think if as true icons like King, Stone, Pacino will pass and we will wonder who replaces them.

I am not even particularly attached to any media icons but the idea seems so foreign to me that the people I grew up with will die that It boggles my mind sometimes.

Paris, Texas. I saw it when it came out. Still one of my tops. It's amazing.
Incredible soundtrack. Best kid acting you're ever going to see (which is really hard to come by). And of course, Harry Dean Stanton was great.

Big fan... even when I didn't know who he was!

Repoman is so great. And as the dad in Sixteen Candles, well, priceless. A true star. A giant among men. And a damn good singer!!

RIP, yet more of my youth!
