Yea that would be the ticket, block houses typically do well in hurricanes, however at 4 and 5 will peel the roofs off of most houses at that point the only thing left will be those block walls.

One thing I learned, If I was in similar disaster, I would be very encouraged to know that Prime Minister Gaston Browne, was on the case, that guy is amazing.

Storm surge plus waves equals well over the roofs of many homes and buildings near the coast. 10 to 20 foot surges possible, plus any large waves on top of the surge could be as high as 50 foot in some places.

If I understand that right you are saying the eye is the equivalent of a 70 mile wide tornado?

It's the way you look at it. The winds edges of the eyewall are the strongest, I just saw the latest reported max sutaimed winds and they're -3130 mph. Thats just six ticks off an operational EF-3 scale tornado. A 70 mile wide tornado. That is pne terrifying weather system.
But one must remember that the center of the eye is calm, sun migh come out but you cam see the sky. But the 30 foot waves will still be there.
