Irrational response to a dream

I know everyone has dreams and sometimes those dreams are nightmares. I had a dream last night that I had a strangely irrational response too.

The dream was nothing special, the part that got me upset was looking into the night sky and seeing a pale red blotch. At first I thought it was the moon (talking with another person in the dream), but the moon was in a different part of the sky. So it was surmised that it was "a comet" and if we could see it then that "wasn't good". I've had many dreams where I've seen dangerous celestial phenomena or alien spacecraft in dreams - even war between humans and aliens, asteroids hitting earth, or spacecraft falling out of the sky. This had none of that.

I woke up after that and was very scared in my bed. A totally irrational response to that dream. I literally had to tell myself, there's nothing in the room that is dangerous and that the dream "comet" wasn't anything to be afraid of before I could move and resettle myself in bed.

I had a nightmare about a week ago. We have been watching Rizzoli & Isles on Hulu for a month or two and we watched two that night. Rizzoli was narrating my dream. What a nightmare, her voice and the fact that she talks way too much made my dream into a nightmare.

Oh, sorry to hear about the nightmare you had, I just needed to vent about my last nightmare.

I never have dreams or nightmares, or maybe I should more correctly say that If I do have dreams or nightmares I never remember them when I wake up.

This is pretty interesting for me because a couple months back I had a really scary dream, which doesn't happen often, about myself and my family racing in our car on a freeway trying to escape something kind of apocolyptic, i guess. There were tons of other people on the freeway too. And I was looking out the window and there were these HUGE smoldering things that had to be the size of buildings falling from the sky and smaller ones but they were falling slowly and on fire. The sky was orange and just full of smoke. But we were speeding and lost control and the car spun out until we slammed into the concrete barrier and everything went black. It felt like I just sat there in the darkness for awhile until I just calmly opened my eyes And i was just laying there very still.

It was weird because I'm pretty sure i died. But the dream itself was scary and makes me think something like that will happen. I've never had a dream where things fall from the sky like that so it's nice to see that other people do. Does anyone know what could cause dreams like that or if there's meaning behind it?

What if it was the atmosphere burning up...would be pretty cataclysmic if our atmosphere were suddenly consumed by fire. Would be a justifiable reaction in that instance. Then again, it's probably just a dream...maybe...

In my dream the blotch was irregular but only about the size of a poker chip if you held it out at arm's length. It never grew in size during the dream.

Why call your response "irrational"? The response was what it was, which was that the dream was disturbing to you. There has been discussion, at various times, about some comet or steroid hitting the Earth, and even movies made about this, and it's possible that this bothers you on a deep level. Nothing irrational about that. Such a thing, what can the average person do?

Based on my own beliefs, and how I read Revelation, I'd say it's likely that something of that sort will hit at some point. Wormwood would seem to be a celestial object, at best guess. Seems a completely rational concern. The real question, if you believe that, is whether or not you are secure in what comes after, or not?

I guess the irrational part for me was when I woke up I couldn't get myself to move (not sleep paralysis) it was as if I was a little kid thinking there was monster in my room and not moving would make it go away. This was a visceral response (like being looked at by a cougar or a bear sizing up a meal) of being frozen in fear. The conversation about the object in the dream wasn't panicked, it was almost nonchalant. So I feel like my waking response was at least inappropriate to the overall experience. So that's why I was disturbed by how I reacted.

Do I believe Earth is going to be struck by some space object? Yes, it's happened before and there's evidence at least twice that it's led to extinction level events. Do I think It will happen in my lifetime? I don't know. There's in my mind an equal chance of super-volcano/caldera eruptions that would also cause extinction level events. Also the rapidly melting icecaps might stall the ocean currents and cause a climate shift that could lead to extinction. Nuclear war is still an option and would poison the planet pretty quickly. But I don't freeze in fear over these things.
While the hell would a red blotch in the sky in a dream make me freeze up? I'm still mulling it over in my head.

Something in the dream seemed real to you, I'd say, so you reacted as you would to a real life threat. Yeah, disturbing, I agree. Not a lot to do about it, of course. We can't dodge such things. Plenty of things can go wrong, and I believe a lot of them will. It's written, and I take Biblical prophecy seriously. What exactly it all means, we can't know, but we can certainly speculate! I plan to not be here for the worst things, personally! Not all agree, even among those who believe, I know, but even if wrong, I know He's in control, and will trust in God. If you don't have that, something to consider. That sort of peace, in these trying times, is amazing.

I want to put your minds at ease but I'll be told off most likely for this and yet it feels right to do.
Yes it will show up but it will hit the moon and the damage will be less than it would have been if it was a direct hit.

Spend time with your loved ones, help your friends and maybe change the world for the better with the smallest acts.

Trust in the plan and I'm not talking about religions, because It does not care for race, religion or nation.
