And Harvey's still going. I've been a reinsurance journalist since 2003 and I have to say that I have never seen a hurricane / tropical storm stall like this over a relatively narrow area before. Here's the latest prediction on its path from TSR: www.tropicalstormrisk.com...

They just announced that the Barker reservoir gage is toast. So they don't even know what will happen there. They asked USGS to come help, but the area is completely inaccessible.

I read on storm2k that they the Addicks gauge may get flooded and fail as well.

Addicks is now at 108.16 (almost 2" above the spillway) and still rising.

This is not good

Man I hope everyone gets out
We just had a flood almost that bad (homes/businesses 2-3+ feet under water, roads impassable) a few weeks ago, but it only lasted a few hours. Wiped out most of our downtown area and a bunch of homes, helicopter rescues of people from cars etc because it was flash floods.

Flooding is no joke. I can't even imagine if we had had this kind of lasting rain like we had that day plus the wind! This is why I will NEVER live in a flood plain, mountains/hills for us! Always check county/city disaster maps before buying a home and don't buy anywhere in a 1000 year+ flood zone! This includes flash flood zones in the area.

Also the live stream chat is disgusting and everything that is wrong with this world. I thought it was bad here lately, but it's like a Hugfest here compared to the moronic, disgusting wastes of humanity in that chat!

I don't know why this snaps me to attention. I'd like to peruse that Weather forum- may I ask where I can find it? Is it a forum in ATS?

Cheers.

Columbia Lakes looks like a sub division in the middle of a rural area. At least that is what it looks like on google earth to me.

Maybe someone can confirm?

Yes. That's right.

But the impact will be much wider to the west. A town official said about 1000 homes would be affected.
