I didn't think it had been a serious crash as I couldn't really find much on it. I'm guessing if it had been bad there'd be a thread condemning it.

One of the reasons I didn't make a thread plus I wasn't sure if it had actually happened. Also sand is a b###h isn't it hate the stuff.

The Osprey didn't initially have an Engine Air Particle Separator to keep sand out of the engine. So they had to limit the amount of time it can spend in brownout conditions. The sand gets into the engine and the temperature of the engine turns it into glass, and it sticks to the engine causing a power loss.
