Does anyone else fell helpless, at the hands of the education system. Do you feel like a puppet on a string, with no significant control over what you do? i do and it really bothers me. i think as students, as people we need more say. Its our education shouldnt we have say, what would Bush, Paul Martin, Tony Blair and so on say if they were told they couldnt purchase a certain car cause they were to old, to unknowledgable of cars. Wouldnt they be upset? if they had no say in the vehicle they drove. Well my fellow leaders, we drive on that highway every day, no its not on route to the school but the school itself. We need more control,
I am proposing a students union in which we work in part with the government to help better meet the needs of students, and as well divise a system for grading teachers.

My sister was taking US government during the impeachment of Clinton. Her teacher tried to indoctrinate the whole class with the belief Clinton shouldn't be impeached. Our grandfather is Dave Schippers; we had a source very close to the impeachment telling us what was going on and didn't need to rely on the media. My sister would try to argue with her teacher in a very well versed manner, and the teacher would silence her, throw her out of class, or give her detentions for being disruptive until our parents went to the principal.

It's amazing how quickly a teacher can change their ways when your father (as my mom talked with the principal) is putting together the case against Clinton and you start talking law suit for oppression of speech and indoctrination in a public school. After that, my sister was allowed to speak.

So yes, I agree. As of 8 years ago, I experienced it as well. However, there is hope. Look at what a conservative I became despite my teachers!
