I get all of that, but I've spent plenty of years working directly in the realm of judicial proceedings to know how many times these laws and guidelines get ignored, whether inadvertently or purposefully.

My concerns over abuse still stand.

I took it as going after law enforcement as thats what your post seems to suggest.

Never--the only time I go after law enforcement is when they do something wrong and there is plenty of objective evidence to show it. I have too much respect for those who are willing to protect my family just because I make a phone call to a dispatcher for my default setting to be disdain or hatred.

ETA: But I will reinforce my point, though--when I was a paralegal in the military, we prosecuted more than one military police officer for wrongdoing while on the job, and we also prosecuted a CID (Criminal Investigation Division) agent for child porn. Hell (and these were my younger days, so disregard the stupidity), I even smoked weed with an MP while we were both still on active duty.

My point was just to say that abuses of power, purposeful or otherwise, do happen. It's just life's reality...but the vast majority of LEOs do their jobs well and are good people, IMO.

Respectfully there is a large difference between military police and civilian police. Yes abuses of power do occur however, and respectfully, given the differences between the military, UCMJ and military police, as a basis for comparison is not much of a comparison.

Well, considering that I have worked both sides of the fence (as has my wife, with whom I've discussed this specific topic numerous times), I'll respectfully disagree.
