I think they were just luring them with Cannabis. Then killing them for whatever money they had. One of them was suppose to bring $8000 to buy pounds of Cannabis but he only brought $800. Then was offered a gun instead before he was killed.
They must have been real geniuses. Tried to sell the car of one of the missing victims.
