Unidentified intruders have burst into the Spanish consulate in the Swiss capital Bern and are reported to be holding one or more hostages.
Details are still sketchy and it is not known whether the intruders are armed.
A Swiss radio reporter told the BBC that police snipers were surrounding the building.
