It's nearly 35 years since that dude flew at the 84 Olympics and the options are:

Something that is inherently unsafe (see COD4 wing/fuselage rule for Gyros)
Something with a lifting area so large it becomes no fun (OP's)
Balancing on a turbine with an explosive mixture strapped to your back (pass)





Their oldschool and seem dangerous also.

I know right? This guy built this for 10K and how much was put into the AVRO back in the day? Imagine how much money was put into the AVRO and give a estimate at todays cost. Very laughable.
