Deleted topics

What is going on?

5 topics I followed has been deleted in less than 12 hours (don't know the exact time frame, the max is 12 hour but could be shorter).

I am just curious on what is going on, it may end up being more topics since I follow a lot of topics at once.

Update: Yep we are now up to 6.


Update: Now there are 7, all topics that were active.


Update: We are now up to 11 topics deleted. Are someone on a deletion spree?

I concur. I posted an absolutely BRILLIANT reply to a thread earlier, and it disappeared. I was bummed. I burned out my last few synapses on that one...

My guess?

CNN will report the incident, and blame Trump and Vladimir Putin for the sudden deletion.

It may have been because a certain user who was banned recently has been making shell accounts every day and spamming the forum with political threads.

Although the mods prefer that you ask these questions with the 'complaint' feature at the top right of your screen.

Just a friendly heads up.

I thought this was strange, too.

I think it may be because most of them where made by multiple accounts from the same banned user?

The other suspicion was that it may have been because of the content (the threads that I saw deleted where about LGBTQPXYZ, religion, migrants, ... typical stuff a PC crowd would complain about)

Some of these topics was created over a week ago.

And this is not a complaint, so why should I use the complaint feature?

I am simply asking a question. I am just curious on why there are so many topics that gets deleted over a short time, and some of them has been active over a week. I just find that weird.

Glad to see that some folks have figured out what was going on.

I do sincerely apologize to those who wasted their time and effort replying to that person's threads. It's a crappy situation any time we have to trash a thread that contains members' thoughts and ideas. Especially through no fault of their own.

This was necessary though as ATS had become completely unrecognizable with the amount of trolling and baiting being done.

The good news is that we have a very large amount of excellent members here who can quite easily start discussions on those same topics without being a hate monger.
