Drop the lies

Why cant people see trillions of years of work of time is going down the drain? Why dont we drop all the firearms, boms, destroy all army planes.Why cant people see lying is the cause of our problems, and stop lying. Make everything good stop the theft, stop the lies, make earth paradise tomorrow or today.....

If only it were that simple. Wars (overseas, as well as the War on Terror, War on Drugs, etc.) make a lot of money for certain institutions.

All we are in control of (sometimes) is how good we can be to other people.
Start there...I doubt guns and bombs are going anywhere.

He argues that speaking truth constantly is the only thing that can save us from becoming monsters.

Ain't been a trillion years yet, much less "trillions"

Just to get to that first trillion, we've got 986,000,000,000 more years to go.

Why not just give out free drugs to everyone so everyone lies around in a state of bliss without any ambition except another dose. With everyone blessed and mellowed out there would be no reason to fight or lie.

Might be able to do same thing with implantable electronics to allow you to experience your own fantasy.

Of course the downside of either you would probably forget to eat, sleep or work and would expire in a few weeks depending on how healthy you were at the beginning.

I actually think Greed and Fear (War) are our best friends. It is what drives humans to create better products for themselves and others. Plus war is necessary for human survival and improvement of the species. We have no natural predators left. So in order for evolution to work (as opposed to deevolution/idiocracy) we need to cull the herd from time to time. Cruel but true.

You've got at least 50,000 years to wait.

Because people don't always know when they are lying or telling the truth; they forget which is which and why they are telling the lie. People confuse themselves and others. It's a vicious human cycle. Something other animals don't do. It's what makes us human.

I was thinking, why can't school last all year long? Summer comes and one has to ponder the origins of man and lying.......Picked two real winners to start with........IMHO.....All men lie.....especially the married ones.

Lying is part of human nature.
Just like killing the tribe next door.
It ain't gonna change.

In fact lying is good for you.
If you tell your wife her cellulite is getting worse, you are going to have to cook your own supper.

If you tell your 7 year old he's the worst player in little league, you are going to crush his ego.

So suck it up and lie through your teeth.
You will sell more cars and own the dealership then take longer vacations.
You can sell more insurance policies and pad out your retirement account.
And if you are still in your teens, you can get that hot girl to give it up.

You see lying has it's advantages.
