The Prophet's grave is a holy place to believers, like the inner sanctum of any other religious group.

Shujaat offers Friday payers at Masjid-e-Nabvi

MADINA: Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain joined thousands of Muslims for Friday prayers at the Masjid-e-Nabvi on Friday. He is on his first international visit since assuming office.

Mr Hussain and members of his delegation prayed for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and the well-being of the Muslim Ummah. A large number of Pakistanis were among the thousands of Muslims from various parts of the world who offered their Friday prayers at Masjid-e-Nabvi. After the prayers, Pakistanis greeted Mr Hussain and gathered around him.

Mr Hussain also paid a visit to Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) grave at the Roza-e-Rasool late Thursday night. The inner gates leading into the Roza-e-Rasool were opened for the prime minister and his delegation. A large number of Pakistanis, who were at the Roza-e-Rasool, gathered outside the mosque and waved to the prime minister. The delegation offered nawafil (prayers) at the Riaz-ul-Jannah. The delegation also visited Jannat-ul-Baqeeh and Ziarat. The prime minister’s delegation included Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad, Minister for Religious Affairs Ijazul Haq, Minister for Health Nasir Khan, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ghazi Ghulab Jamal, Minister for Communications Babur Ghouri, Minister for Environment Major (r) Tahir, Minister for Culture Rais Munir, provincial ministers, parliamentarians and senior government officials.
