Excellent thread. Here is something I found very telling.

www.nytimes.com...

Virginia Governor Restores Voting Rights to Felons

APRIL 22, 2016

44,000 former prisoners who are on probation can now register to vote.

Yeah. That is what is going on. I don't know about anyone else here, but I am not so sure that I want someone who doesn't make smart decisions decide who is going to be their leader, no matter what their politics is. And yeah it can be argued that some are innocent, which i read somewhere is around 4.1%, I see no reason that the ones who are proved innocent, after being proved guilty, could not vote. They should have their rights restored.

Also, look at this.

Their research into whether voting rights notification laws increase ex-felons’ voter turnout found that in three states — New York, New Mexico and North Carolina — a majority of ex-felons registered post-incarceration as Democrats. The breakdown was as follows: New York, 61.5 percent Democrat, 9 percent Republican; New Mexico: 51.9 percent Democrat, 18.9 percent Republican; and North Carolina, 54.6 percent Democrat, 10.2 percent Republican.

Moreover, the two men published another paper in March 2014 with data from three other states — Iowa, Maine and Rhode Island — and the results were different. In all three of those states, a plurality was affiliated with no party (though in every case, there were far more registered as Democrats than Republicans).

Coincidence? The Democratic party looks like it is in it's finale stage existence.

Actually, you may want to look at this again. Compare the US presidential 2016 map compared to the crime by county map.

See anything?

Crime is still at low levels historically, so this post is bogus.

And yes, there's more crime in cities, and there are also more voters there. They are both caused by high populations.

Oh, and there are plenty of rural areas with crime too, so once again the post is bogus.

That is not true in the slightest. Pure leftest propaganda.

Dems wanted you to believe that when Obongo was in office.

Give it a few more months they'll be foaming at the mouth how crime is at historic highs.

That is only an opinion.

And yes, there's more crime in cities, and there are also more voters there. They are both caused by high populations.

And more democrats gathered together.

Oh, and there are plenty of rural areas with crime too, so once again the post is bogus

Yes there is still crime in rural area's but as we have seen, more democrats commit crime. So the post is not bogus.

The first post in this thread provides facts and data, what do you have other than an opinion?

With the rate at which the progressive are becoming more filled with seething hate I don't doubt it will be true. But it will be committed by more democrats if the prison numbers are any indication at all.

"Correlation does not imply causation." - one of the mantras of science and statistics.

I like that saying. What does imply causation? Perspective?

I should have said, "Correlation does not equal causation" because correlation may imply (but is not proof of) cause.

To properly identify causation without doubt, one must evidence things unequivocally. The evidence must be robust, both repeatable and objectively verifiable.

Even perspective could imply a conditionality based in psychological factors such as unverified but strongly held assumptions.

Of course if you test scientifically, you must have an alternate to the cause or process that may indicate identical causal results. This then may be tested, one paradigm against the other, to determine which is the truth.

But, as possible alternates are eliminated, it leaves only one thing as being most likely the true cause, and 'there' is a rational dilemma.

Truths are absolutes. Once we have no alternate possibilities to test against, we can no longer test the idea. This is the breakdown of science. It can never give us complete confidence in what it is telling us. There may be possible alternates that we simply have not conceived and so we can never have closure.

So, nothing is suitable to imply causation without any doubt or error because it is an absolute.

What about probabilities? Would that be a way to suitably imply causation?

I am going to agree with this. People who are liberal have liberal kids and want to have policies that protect their kids if they go astray, so the kids get away with more from lax juvenile laws. But, because they get away with it with their lawyers getting them off, they do not learn their lesson and the crimes get worse. Especially where there are a lot of liberals in a location.

If you spoil your kids and try hard to help them when they get in trouble when they are young, they often grow more profound at committing crimes. If you try to be your childs best friend instead of a parent, the kid has more chance of being a problem in society till they grow up and learn their lesson. Changing the laws locally only makes it worse, the kids have to learn to respect others.

So there is a correlation between crime and liberal families.

there is no correlation when you use your own opinions as somehow being factual, nice try though

Actually it is because of repeated observation. That's how science draws conclusions. Nice try though.

Observation: The highest crime areas/counties in the USA are more likely to vote majority Democrat Party than Republican.

This is a repeatable observation.

Probabilities can imply causation but a true cause is absolute. Probability cannot be taken as absolute.

More than we probably even know about. They're all liars and steal like they're in a candy store during a free for all. Not including the debt the country is in now because of it.
