the trailer peaks my interest far more than that description.

it looks like a normal type family man wind up in the joint for a total accident. when in there he puffs up and puts a beat down on someone so he is not marked as a punk. then it looks like it just goes downhill from there. he winds up killing in prison. looks like he joins what appears to be the AB and becomes a shot caller.

Yeah, it's decent! Prison movies tend to be kinda one dimensional but this was interesting. The only thing I didn't like much was that everybody except the main guy were pretty much background characters. Def worth watching though.

i watched it and while i thought it was a real good movie i dont get why he did what he did?
just figured his family was out of reach at that point and he/they would never be safe from the AB so why not become the shot caller?

Yeah, he knew that he was gonna do life and the beast was always gonna use his family as leverage to keep him in line so he had to become the man to keep them safe. Thing is if the AB knew what he did then the Mexican guy probably did too so I don't know why he let him live.

Not sure why he gave police the second location either? Lotta loose ends but it was good for what it was.
