As an aside, are you guys aware of the significance of Baden Powell, founder of the Boy Scout movement, in Freemasonry? Is it ever considered a recruitment channel for Masons, as in other countries?

TC, I believe both the Boy Scout movement and the gay community are sub-cultures, with their own values, rules and norms, by definition.

I am very pleased that TC believes a 'redneck' can be open to criticizing and rejecting 'evil plans' of government - especially if it includes the possibility of rejecting the current administration, who espouse certain redneck values, definitely - but who, ever since the unelected political appointment of puppet Bush, have been very happy to deceive their countrymen on the purpse of every act of foreign policy or military aggression.

You are in that position - having to distrust everything arsehole Bush tells you, and (if you bother) putting it into the categories of 'promise never to be fulfilled', 'new lie' or 'cover-up to avoid being caught out for previous lie'. There is hope while rednecks can critically analyze and dismiss this arsehole ans his fellow criminals, but I am not as confident as TC is that they can.

Leveller, thanks for unbundling the rubbish in the original quote in this post with your good eye for detail. I support what you said about the content and tone of that quote.

Well, Hell No to this nationalist neo-nazi redneck bull disguised as patriotism. It's that type of statement that fuels half of the ant-americanism. Well, I guess most pop music, films and TV fall into that category to seeing as Sex Drugs and Violence selll almost everything these days

There is a turn off switch for rap music - You. If that sh!t annoys you don't listen to it. Personally, it's just noise to me But why is it such a problem? You made it a problem. Go right back through history and see how you made it a problem.
You gave it the meaning. It woulda died out long ago if the White man hadn't bought all those records.

So you don't want your kids getting ideas? Teach them not to listen to it. Sit down with them and actually explain to them why you don't like it. But explain it right.
Any time you or the kid inadvertantly stumble upon it, just walk away.

And what about the rest of society? The ones who like rap now. The ones who have taken it's meaning and turned it into a weapon against all of us?

Media is corrupting us all, most of all the kids, but no-one is gonna stand up and demand change.......because then they'd probably be seen as a liberal/communist/terrorist/alien/whatever and publicly humiliated for thinking there is anything wrong with it all
