Lol...I knew you were right as I looked it up before I responded. I was only joking. My brothers wife is from England and we always argue over correct spellings with one another. I am the last person to correct someone on spelling and grammar. If not for spell check...and I am the worlds worst when it comes to punctuation and stuff.

Definitely Sasha!! I recall that, so does the hubby and older son! No idea if it's just a shortened version or not, but she was always referred to as "Sasha". Now, if it is a shortened version, could be her preference. My sister used a version f her middle name for years, and then changed to her first name in college.

For weird regarding names and that family how about when his name was spelled "Barak"? I remember reading articles about why it changed to "Barack", though NONE really had a good explanation. Those articles are very hard to find anymore.

Less likely or not, it IS the case here that Sasha is short for (or Informal for) Natasha.

Besides, I don't see that any more unlikely that Ted is short for Theodore (and short fit Edward) or Hank instead of Henry, Dick for Richard, Chuck for Charles, or Jack being a less formal version of John.

Some nicknames are odd, to be certain, and don't seem to quite fit. In this case, she likely decided she preferred the longer version. As I stated earlier, my sister did something similar.

Just seems less obvious than "Tasha" for the name, is all. Some names are like that.
