Counter-terrorism police have been informed but are not treating it as a terrorist incident.

Wanstead attack: Nursery worker stabbed
Why, before any investigation into the woman's claims, is this being declared "not a terrorist incident"? Because only one person was involved? It should be considered under investigation only, with no clear motivation IMO.

Unless the mayor has instructed the police to play down that angle because, as he stated, London is the safest city in the world.

I wonder if this is one of them false attacks, kind of like the fake racists attacks and other acts of vandalism in the US that either turned out to outright hoaxes, or crimes actually committed by the alleged victims themselves.

Like maybe some non-Muslim types simply dressed in all black and pretended to be Muslim for the sake of bad press against a type of people??

I don't doubt the victim was hurt at all. I am simply just open to the possibility the suspects are not quite who they seem.

I agree. Which is why I was questioning the immediate declaration of it not being a terrorist incident. How can that statement be made, before any investigation. It very well could be a false claim by the victim too. It is just as likely to be a case of a failed robbery, and she "claims" they were yelling about the Koran to implicate the Muslim community.

Very odd....

I think you got a point with taking a deeper analysis of how they word their initial statements. How could they know not to treat things a certain away unless they already know without a doubt how it all went down and by whom??

Could this also be a new strategy by local thugs and thieves? Misdirect towards another profile already under close scrutiny by the Law Enforcement community to distract away from the local petty thieves and thugs when they pul off their crimes?

If people, governments, aren't going to fight terrorists, or even call it terrorism, then you have to wonder when the cowards will surrender.

Well, with the number of surveillance cameras in that country, could this whole thing have been recorded somewhere? Isn't that the stated reason for all that surveillance of their population? That right there would prove the claim of black clothed attackers at least. With no audio, the other claim of yelling about the Koran would still need to be proven by other eyewitness testimony in the area.

But, you need to investigate all that first, before you can make any judgment. Anything stated categorically before that is done is simply playing political word games.

You've got one group going around murdering without consequence, and another group just taking it, doing nothing to save themselves from this insanity...

I'm not sure which group is supposed to be considered the cowards.

The right to bare arms is why America doesn't see this type of terror that they are seeing in the UK.
Here are some examples of what would have happened to those muslims if The UK had something like The USA 2nd Amendment.

Woman shoots, kills home intruder in Gwinnett County www.wsbtv.com...
SPD: Woman shoots man while defending herself www.ksla.com...
ISP: Woman fatally shoots man who was fighting with conservation officer fox59.com...
I think it's time for the UK to re-consider, no?

WHAT!? Its been time for the UK to reconsider granting their citizens the right to self defense for many years. Gun rights are essential, but so is legislative protections for individual citizens who confront violence in self defense or defense of others and/or the general public.

The UK needs to end the extremely heavy firearms restrictions. Just because firearms crimes are low, does not mean crime in general is low, and certainly not violent crime. They need to pass laws equivalent to Stand your Ground in the USA, and step one, give all your officers guns!

Terrible situation....but lets hope the local Police do a thorough investigation and charge the appropriate people by the laws of the land.

Just to clear this "Asian" business up, once again.

In England, and presumably most of the UK.........

When someone is referred to as "ASIAN"...they are referring to someone of Middle Eastern, Arab, Pakistan, Indian, Afghan Heritage...........They are NOT referring to People of East Asian descent.....

In England, East Asians, Chinese, Japanese, Korean Etc Etc, are Referred to as "Orientals"....

In Australia, NZ, USA, Canada, all the Americas I think, we refer to "Asians" as people of Oriental extraction...ie Chinese, Japanese etc.
We refer to Middle Eastern, Indians, Pakis etc, as Middle Eastern, Indian, Pakis etc.

I think the English came up with the Generic term "Asian", as some simple term they think may not be offensive, to these people they imported over the past 50 years.....as they really dont have a lot of "Oriental" people in the UK.

I never heard the English use this term for Indians etc, until around the 1990s......so who knows what looney lefty brought it in.

It can be very confusing for non UKians, when ever they mention "Asians" in their news and Soccer etc...

Thank you Mods for cleaning up the trash.

I now know that the despicable comments don't fall on "deaf" ears.
Back on track.
I've checked the three big news outlets in the UK. The story has disappeared.
