I have always considered the theme to this motion picture to be a outstanding modern classical piece.

The following is a magnificent rendition by The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra featuring Katica Illenyi on the theremin.
The theremin is a fantastic instrument in its own right.

Great performance!
I built one of these
many years ago,
still works perfectly.

Moog offers a kit,
or ready to play units.

By the way, Leon Termin who created these instruments
also built a passive bugging device that was like a mirror.
It reflected waves only when waves were directed upon it.
So, it did not produce any signal or voltage on its own.
Therefore, it was rather undetectable using the traditional
methods at the time.
One was hidden in a wooden "gift' to the U.S. embassy.

The look upon her face says it all. It's as tho she can't believe
the sounds she's ushering in to the world.

What great thread!

SnF that rarely give out these days.

The tone and timbre of the heterodyne oscillator is
glorious in its own right.
Just remember to use a non conductive/plastic
flathead when tuning the potentiometer.

Thanks again for sharing that sonic moment of grace.

The theremin, one of my favorites. Including one of my favorites I've played before. Nice video BTW.
