Exactly.

I've stressed myself so #ing much "everything will be closed for 4 days! OMG what do I NEED?"
Now I think I overdid it, serves two to five families for three weeks... lol

Kilgore,
didn't see it, just on the news. It's kind of weird I had to actively surpress the thought it means something ...

Haha...it means all sorts of things but that does not necessarily have any bearing on what it is or it's actual influence, if any, upon events. It's the green box that's actually an apple thing again. Or the apple that's actually a green box. Except now we throw in a shiny object...a distraction, the scene is set and suddenly there's drama and enemies all around.

A staged show is all about the timing.

I think we’ve all been a bit ground down!

Here in Alaska we call it “cabin fever” when we look forward to going outside and enjoying summer strolls, and bar-b-queues.

Welcome to my world biatches!! LOL!

Until recently, this whole Covid/routine as usual did not even slow me down. Then yeah, autumn hit and it was kind of really depressing...

But a few conversations (Quantum12 is 40 days sober, a bit shakey, but is doing the double whammy of quitting smoking too. Told that was awesome because the first month is really tough. By month four you are really bored and need a hobby!! Hehehe!) and you get by it.

My little sister (5 yrs younger so not so young anymore) must have had real tough time because she called me out of the blue and we have been slowly catching back up.

Anyway, I came here to post a “Universe Christmas Wish” because that is how she rolls! Me, late night, watching Star Trek, need a break and another beer. Been letting it spool on the DVR, I hit pause... restroom and fresh beer... and the time is “11:11 on 12/22/2020”!!!

This year is almost over (thank jeebus!) and here we are with a Winter Solstice conjunction behind us and a reminder that She loves us... just when we need it most!

Super Solstice! Merry Christmas!! And Happy New Year’s!!!

🎄🍾🙏

Haha, sorry. I meant that the apple may be, beyond our perceptions, something that doesn't resemble an apple, but what it denotes in it's shape and appearance to us is nourishment. We see an apple and believe that it will nourish our hunger. The apple has it's own agenda of course, it's not seeking to nourish, it's looking to reproduce successfully. Our nourishment, and the processes of our digestive system facilitate that. We and the apple have therefore co-evolved together. The flesh to be filling and nutritious, the seed to be given safe passage through our digestive systems to be deposited, complete with fertiliser, in a place it can grow.

The Mysteries describe these observations of nature. The fixing of the calender, the Battle of the Planets athropomorphised, was part of the Neolithic Package and one of our major 'wicked messes' ideologically speaking. Too much time star gazing, not enough understanding what is going on right under their noses.

I didn't mean to be cryptic. My friend, the farmer, says I remind of a sheep dog he once had. Good dog but once it was off he couldn't keep up. He took to tucking one of it's front legs in his collar. That did the trick evidently.

The thing with all this star-gazing, and as Robert H Goddard completely understood, is that first you have to ensure that your base is stable. The mathematics of getting a manned vehicle into space make it possible but should that be carried out at the detriment of the planet, for example. Elon Musk springs to mind. All going great and then he announces that he will be using steel from now on. Really? But steel's so cheap. Errr...no it's not. He gets it cheap because he gets it from those raping the planet of resources we need to survive.

I disagree with TEOTs these 'signs' are not an indicator that the planet loves us, but more of a request that we love 'her.'

The message is the repeating numbers. That is the Covenant between Universe and humanity. And is a reminder that it is OK and She understands (and by extension, forgives us).

It is my belief that we will figure it out.

I was watching Neal Degrasse Tyson’s version of Cosmos. He too sees the short sightedness and destruction of the environment, and he too is worried about our future (and pondered what will happen when we venture into outer space). He is eventually optimistic.

The bubonic plague was horrific. But out of that time we get Chaucer and The Heptameron not to mention some guy named Shakespeare. And the Renaissance.

During the most stressful times we are forced to grow even if some of us die.

“11:11” is the “you will be okay” message to soothe those dark thoughts. I noticed back in 2012 that this is being noticed by more people. It is my belief it is a sign of hope.

I could be wrong! It could be a portent of doom. But why would be noticed now (the world is always ending)??

We have to clean up our mess. New tech helps. But it is our outlook on all of humanity that has to change.

11:11 is just a piece of the sign that in the long version of history we will be alright!

Very nice!

People always assign weird occult new age rubbish to 'the mysteries'.

You probably know this, but most people don't.

One of the primary 'great mysteries' that people became 'initiated into' was the fact that men had something to contribute to reproduction.

Giving out that information against your oaths of secrecy could apparently get you killed.

As you know and say sometimes, mythology generally had a real seed to it, and the real seed was not about ancient aliens, but about how life worked.. polar stars rotating, the nile flooding periodically, etc.

My old mentor was truly a fine mind about this sort of thing. I wish that I had given him his proper due when I was very young, and not such a self-important ass like I was.

Ah well, I'm far from perfect.

Check this out! My sister sent this and my laundry whirls around one machine or another, I started reading this FB post..

m.facebook.com...

It is from some modern witch who is too CT about the vaccine but knows about all the same stuff we talk about here. TL;DR but just the first couple dozen are worth it! Covers Solstice and something that I forgot about, the Age of Aquarius!

What better way to keep people from watching the skies than to make them stay indoors?

PS - My sister sent it to me! Again, no such thing as coincidence!

Guess what time it posted??

Yup, “11:11”!!

You see I probably interact with numbers quite differently to you - most likely because I don't entirely understand the language. Like me saying I can speak Spanish where as in reality all I can do is ask for a beer and the bill (and please and thank you of course). It gets me where I need to be but beyond that...I know my limitations. So I saw 11:11 12/22/2020 (1+2+2+2+2+0+2+0 = 11) and therefore, 11+11+11 = 33.

Just 'toying' with you.

Anyway, I just popped by to wish you all season's greetings. I've a lot on at the minute but you're all never far from my thoughts.

Oh I nearly forgot the other reason I dropped by, I thought you'd maybe enjoy this...

“Firstly, the answer to these complex questions appeared at the end of the last century, when such a phenomenon as decoherence was discovered. It turns out that indeed, any object is located in several places at once, in very many places. It seems to be spread throughout the universe. But if the object comes into interaction with the environment, even collides with one atom of a photon, he immediately “collapses.” So there are no mystical abilities to cause quantum collapse by observation — this is due to interaction with the environment, and we are simply part of this environment.

Decoherence yes. But I'd argue the "object" is never in many places at once, just its potential in form of a probability field is spread.
Nuances matter.
But I kind of love it, it deepens my adoration for the magnitude of Orm (W. Moers) that was flowing through Douglas Adams.

The interconnectedness of all things you say sometimes. This time it made a weird memory pop into my head and thank you hahaha. It's a 1 minute song from the midnight gospel.

Here:

Drinking blood from the stump of a prison guard I that just chopped up
That used to be freedom to me

Watching my cell mate cry
As I spray hot piss in his gouged out eyes
That used to be freedom to me

But now it's plain to see
The prison was inside of me
And I was really pissing in my own gouged out eyes

And freedom is what happens when you finally take off
Your prisoner disguise

You're way ahead of me, my brain has to crawl through that stuff. I get the jist. That's all folks.

Although, I'm catching up on the second season of His Dark Materials on BBC iPlayer and my brain got all magical seeing how decoherence was obviously something that influenced the author...amongst many other things.

I'm currently reading the short version of The Golden Bough
It's the most English thing imaginable. I totally love it.

All hail to Professor Mary Beard who brought it to my attention amongst other wonderful thoughts and ideas in her great book.

Your words are all pronouns? "You think it" My first post?

It's about hurting other people you think control the system. To then realize you are the system too. And you shouldn't hurt yourself. "Interconnectedness."

But I'm guessing at
"Why do you think it fits?"

Meaning.

In general its "evil is outside of me and wants to destroy everything." Governments, rich people, aliens..

But we are all evil and good. And its inside us more than outside us. We are all interconnected and it would do us the highest good, to love each other even if we are governments or rich or something. At the end of the day we are looking in a mirror.

We were talking about decoherence.
So... if you want to change the subject fine, but a little disclaimer would have been helpful.

All pronouns? What? You're just trying to be obnoxious, don't you?

Most Scottish thing you've read I think you mean.

Frazer is to anthropology what Herodotus is to history. Broke the ground but subsequently largely over turned by developments and hard work in the field. Frazer I find very useful though in understanding the mind of homo victorianus - anthropologically speaking that's his greatest value, I certainly wouldn't recommend him as offering any insight beyond that.

Sure. Scottish.
like anybody who isn't English could tell the difference...

I love the style, it's sometimes a bit Lovecraftian, then it's like you can hear the monotony of the scholar listing his facts, then he rants and raves...
It's really fun.
And you're not being fair, Darwin gets praised besides all flaws, Freud... so why would he have to be better than those supposedly "greats"?
Is it because he was Scottish?
Or is it because it is "just" anthropology?
