Falling leaf
I am a leaf, perched Waaay up high.
My skin has drawn tight
And I shake in the wind.
I cling to the tree
For solace and comfort,
But it is ripped from my grasp
And I am buffeted around.
I have my sights set for
This certain piece of ground
I steer torwards it
As much as I am able.
But you see, the wind
It pushes from everywhere
It has me at it's mercy.
I am driven to tears
Time and again.
If only I could be stronger
If only I could choose
Where I go
And how I get there
But the wind, she listens
Not at all to my demands
Or my pleas, no, she
Just pushes me around
Gives me the wings to fly
Takes me on a grand journey.
Maybe, I should give in?
Relinquishing my values
That dictate I have to
Get to a certain spot
And accept that the wind
Has a reason and a plan
And try to just enjoy the ride
Certainly many people have told me so.
I am here for a mission
But that doesn't mean I
Can't have fun on the way
Today I let go
Today I become one with the wind
I am a falling leaf
