Hey friends,

I'm enthralled by the sound of the harp guitar. What a lovely instrument with a warm, rich, and sumptuous sound.

I was also blown away by Muriel Anderson, btw.. what a talented lady!

Here she is talking about her instrument:

And now for some of her lovely music:

Here's a hypnotic version of Comfortably Numb played on the harp guitar.

So ATS, this instrument is new to me! Have you heard the harp guitar before? Are you as entranced by its sound as I?

Enjoy your Monday

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I am amazed that that thing can stay in tune. I would want one, but I suspect that they may be a bit cost prohibitive...

Hi zosi.

Beautiful instrument.

As a producer, I always wished I that I was able to play every instrument fluently.

Never knew this existed, thanks for sharing.

I have seen some of these videos before and they ae mesmerizing.

It reminds me of a chapman stick or megatar , playing two entirely different licks at the same time is incredible to me.

Now I'm inspired ...I'm coming back in a few hours with a thread about the Megatar and to show off some vids of my friend playing one...

Awesome thread, I wish there was more music talk around here, but I'm glad for what is here .

Nice! I am eager to see your thread

The Megatar is another instrument I am unfamiliar with.

I, too, love the music/art component of this site! I appreciate any and all discussion thereof.

See more from you and the megatar soon!

first that is a beautiful instrument and that lady is talented.
that said i would not sit down and listen to a whole cd of her playing this instrument. just not my bag personally.

now to your comment.

i think about that a lot. i often think about what i would wish for if i could have one granted assuming money was not an option.
i always come back to what you said.

i would want to be a virtuoso on every instrument that exists.
that would be amazing

lol, it's definitely very "easy listening"!

I can picture it playing in a nice hotel lobby somewhere. But you would definitely find me there in that lobby, listening to this beautiful music and deep in thought while the fire dimmed

I think if I could have any skill it would be to be able to dance with the best of them.. alas tis not so (ahem).

Probably the most famous use of the instrument in recent times. Enjoy.

I think you will find that it takes something other than money.

Loved them all, esp the Pink Floyd track, wow.

There's a YT channel you should checkout called Candyrat Records, they are all about amazing guitarists, and have some more awesome videos of folks playing these harp guitars.

Good stuff, cheers!
