Photoshop Help Needed Please

Hey everybody,

Need a little assistance if you would? My wife and I are house shopping and I've found a beauty, however she hates the stone work on the outside of the house. I'm trying to convince her we can change it with paint and make it look totally different.

I'm thinking 3 shades of brown / tan.

Painting the stone on the front of this house, adding dark colored shutters on the left windows and painting the garage door to match the shutters.

Photoshop experts, show me what you got.

I would also suggest adding a livelier color such as blue or green for the door. Also some landscaping could help with vibrant flowers in lieu of boring bushes. If you have the funds, possibly replace the roof with a colored/painted metal roof.


You know, I just noticed something. That looks alot (like exactly) like the house I grew up in, well we had a basketball goal halfway up the drive.

Many of the larger paint companies allow you to upload a photo of your home and alter the colors. I did this with mine prior to painting it.

It's nice because you can use the actual colors they sell and you don't have to guess what it may look like.

I'd be more worried about the inside than what colour you see from the outside, you can sort that sort of thing at your leisure and thus pick the correct tone (aka just let her free with the paint brush) as its more important to have enough space to do what you want and even if you had hello kitty pictures all around the house after a few months you won't even notice them.

The inside is awesome. It fits our needs and no updates are needed.

Anyone else have some time and want to throw something together?

Maybe painting the stone work around the front door / window. ( not the bricks )
