And this is one of the many things that have changed in the USA.

There was a point in time when someone who had been granted admission into the US was honored for that privilege. Not anymore. We now live in a time of me, me, me!

If you are an immigrant that is here legally, then shame on you for supporting those that do not enter this country the legal way! You are undoing everything that you have built for yourself.

If you are an illegal immigrant, good riddance! The United States doesn't want your trash!

You come here the legal way or you get sent home!

That is because Gang warfare totally destroyed USA. America was able to get out of the Wild West once to WW1. But, second time seems to be not happening because killing bad people without evidence seems immoral.

I would just like to add that I have never seen a farmer that was not overweight and driving a new $85,000 truck.

Is that exclusive to my area? Or have others noticed this about the profitee........farmers in there areas?

No idea, and that is interesting!! Farming isn't considered a high profit sort of enterprise, and that's a lot for a truck! Shaving costs hiring illegals could explain that!

Lotta baloney, that. I live amongst them. We are a sanctuary area.

No baloney whatsoever. I KNOW people who didn't get work they wanted, and badly needed, because illegals got it, instead. I know, too, about the hotel maid issue. Worked in one, and the head housekeeper got in trouble for not hiring the people that actually applied. She was bringing in people who didn't speak English, and weren't citizens, and tossing apps from citizens that came in. Those are facts. This BS that they only take jobs no one else wants is the baloney here.

If I hire someone, they won't be illegal. The "to do" list, the hubby does. Don't want some border-hopping criminal around my place, thanks.

Of course you don't

The point Buzzy was making (that nobody will admit they understand full well) is that our country already factors in illegal immigrants. They have been unofficially accepted and expected (if not actually encouraged) and they're very much in demand. Many businesses are profiting specifically because they use illegal immigrants (almost) exclusively and they're a defacto part of the workforce

They're part of the community. They're also people - not vermin

So, they can be exploited, and that's acceptable? They can work for lower pay be treated as outcasts, and that makes t alright for them to be here, because some company can make more money using them? That makes it more wrong!

They are criminals, too. If they pay taxes, they are using fake ID. And, no, a lot of people do NOT accept them. Greedy people that want cheap labor, close to slavery, maybe, but not all people, not by a long shot.

They are NOT immigrants.

They are immigrants, but they aren't here legally

As much as you despise them - there are going to be more. With or without that stupid wall. This is a global humanitarian crisis, and it would be better for countries with angry citizens and better for people in need if we put all our energy into working on the roots of this problem instead of attacking the victims

No, immigrants come legally. They are invaders. It's not a "humanitarian crisis", either, and the United States cannot support every poor person on the planet. Here's a hint; no matter how many come, there will ALWAYS be more poor. When does it end? Fix the countries they come from, and stop them coming here. Otherwise, we will be the same as what they left. Of course, that's what t he globalists want. it is not our place to fix the world, either, right?? Funny, how I hear that when it comes to fighting, but when it's accepting invaders, suddenly we are obligated to fix everything? That's called a double standard.

That's a bit disingenuous, isn't it?

Form an entire argument around the notion that illegals come here to take jobs that are "beneath" legal residents, but then turn around and tell somebody to stop creating jobs "beneath" legal residents.

I mean...if somebody could make a decent wage cleaning hotel rooms, then the job is no longer "beneath" anybody. There's plenty of people that are willing to do just about anything if the compensation for doing it is enough. Not as many people are willing to do "dirty jobs" when the compensation for it isn't there. If we just across the board increase compensation for everybody, then suddenly those jobs aren't beneath anybody anymore because you can make a living on it.

There's a reason those jobs are considered by many to be "beneath" them. Take away that reason and suddenly people are willing to do them.

It's not acceptable for anyone to be exploited. Please - get real

Facts are facts though. You remember what facts are - right? Many people in this country are benefiting from their labor. Instead of punishing people for coming where they're wanted, if you don't want them here - why don't you instead focus on why they're here in the first place?

They're just looking for something better

Yes - we know - they're criminals

ok let me rephrase that. The Foundation of the USA was built on immigration. There, happy?

Still doesn't solve the issue with "illegal" immigration.

And still doesn't justify these people trashing our city because they are trying to protest illegal immigration.

I guess they don't understand what illegal is and definitely do not understand what littering is. If they want to be respected they have to show respect first, leaving trash everywhere to prove a point is useless because the city workers are not illegal and if it's not to prove a point then it goes to show how trashy and bummy these people are by making a mess of our city.

I agree, immigrants are part of the National populace foundation historically.

These are different times and many persons wish to equate the industrial revolution, or the new founded United States, to 2017. The United States is a nation of immigrants..historically. Times have changed.

The whole Statue of Liberty argument kills me, the poem "Colossus" was posted on the statue after a contest...placed almost 20 years later (I am not looking it up) to raise money for the pedestal, and it is NOT part of our constitution.

Now you're just trying to start an argument. I didn't say anything about "creating jobs" that are "beneath" others. You just made that up and put it on me, which is what is not just disingenuous, but rhetorically ridiculous.

Look, I have decades of experience with the people who have come here without authorization. I have come to know them personally, and I had the grace to listen to their stories.

They came here to get work, yes. They are willing to work for the wages offered, yes. They work hard, too. They tolerate exploitative conditions because they know they are at "the mercy" of their employer.

I'm sick to death of people trying to tell me they are 'bad hombres' or untouchables. The only people coming here LEGALLY and taking GOOD JOBS are the people from India who work in IT. The Mexicans, Guatemalans, Salvadorans, Cubans, Hondurans, etc who come here just want to work. They work in "menial" labor jobs.

You can continue trying to tell everyone I'm wrong, but I will continue being correct about it. Because I made it my career.
So. That is all.
