I think i'm going to live with it for the time being, or until i'm in the actual presence of someone that can show me first hand exactly how to get that extra 400mhz form the ram/mb in question.

Have to say i'm rather impressed with AMD new CPUs, at least this one anyway.

I'm running a laptop with an AMD A10 (it's the K15 4c+6g). @ 2.4GHz and 8GB DDR4. In my opinion, the quad cores have come leaps and bounds from when they first came out. Especially with how stable they are now.

This is my first AMD rig since around the beginning of the millennium, Replaced my aging i5 2500K rig. Given the fact that the Athlon 64 was the last architecture AMD had that could compete with Intel, i have to say im kind of glad that AMD have some irons back in the fire.

Might actually bring some competition back to the game and even bring the cost down somewhat.

I'm the same. This is my first AND since, well, the AMD Sempron before it went 64. Intel just dominated the market for so long.

But I'm glad they're back in the race. It reminds me of the old days of Nvidia v AMD graphics card. I still have my old 9800xt 256mb graphics card. It was the first one I bought and, even though it's dead, I just can't bring myself to throw it away. Sad, I know lol.

I'm still not wanting a an ATI/AMD GPU just yet, need to see how Vega fairs all the same but im quite happy with my 1070 for the time being.

No , I have 3600 mhz (just like your 3000) . I would say leave it @ 2133. But you have to set up a memory profile with AMP (? citation needed) and overclock to get 3000. 2133mhz memory is very sufficient.
And , BTW , stay AMD. I havent used Intel since the first P2

Weird that i did, apparently its something to do with the partition system changing.

Window 10 would not let me format the drive partition to begin with under the new format and did not entertain the old until i enabled legacy support.

All good now through.

Ive managed to enable the A/XMP functionality, CAM reporting it's now running at 2129.02Mhz.

Upgraded from my old Intel i52500K to this AMD 1600X, liking it so far although the chip seems to run somewhat hotter than my old i5 and that's with water cooling closed loop.

The memory is fine, its just getting it to do what it says on the tin and perform to spec.

The board supports speeds of up to 3200Mhz, so its just a matter of updating the A/XMP profile correctly.

Might try contacting Corsair and see if they can help.

That would depend on how hot. I have all black box editions and planars that auto overclock at need. They run about 60c under an intense load (i.e. 2 major games loaded at the same time and just alt+tab between them) I still have 2 full water cooling units I may go back to using shortly and strap my primary gaming system to the max)

Looks like most temp monitoring software bar AMDs Ryzen Master are reporting temps 20c higher than are actual happening with these new Ryzen CPUs.

Ive got a 120mm Be quiet closed water loop and software like CAM/CPUID/HWiNFO64 are reporting temps of around 50c idle, took my time mounting it with the correct amount of thermal paste and secured the block using a figure 8 screw pattern so its not a mounting issue.

50c @ idle is rather warm . Generally , they run in the low 30s.
When you stated CPUID were you speaking of their Hardware Monitor Program ?
And go by CPUTIN

Dont really matter which temp monitoring software you use right now, none are accurate or will be until they are updated to take into account the TDP offset of 20c AMD have in place.

Apparently its something to do with the way the chip steps up and down frequency wise. AMD even recommend using the high performance power plan as apposed to a more balanced plan until they get all the issues resolved.

Im using CPUID Hardware Monitor amungst others.
