Just another story about a recent convert of Islam wanting to create Allahland where it does not already exist..
news.sky.com...

Two police officers have been shot and wounded during the arrest of a suspected radical Islamist on the French island of Reunion.
The gunman, in his 20s, was described as a "dangerous individual" and detained with his mother.

A recent convert to Islam, he was wanted for "glorifying terrorism," the Interior Ministry said, adding that he "refused to be arrested and fired a rifle at police".

Weapons and ingredients for making explosives were later found at their apartment in the town of Saint Benoit.

Another incident with a young man and his religion. "Man plotted attacks on Buckingham Palace and Elton John concert."
www.theguardian.com...

A teenager has admitted plotting a bomb attack in London, having researched potential targets including Buckingham Palace and an Elton John concert.

Haroon Syed, 19, who pleaded guilty on Thursday at the Old Bailey, was “researching, planning and attempting to source” materials for homemade explosive devices for use in the UK.

The court heard how Syed tried to get weapons online, including a bomb vest or explosives, and trawled the web to find a busy area in the capital such as Oxford Circus to launch a mass casualty attack.

The guy was not doing anything but had two rather large knives... He had been under investigation for sometime... maybe mayhem was prevented before the act ?

This above link is a story about a girl who was abducted when she was 12 and sold into prostitution.. Her father continued to look for her and she was finally found at age 17.. WTG Dad... Unfortunately instead of a grand family reunion the devout brother did the proper "Allah's will" honor killing and dumped her body in a well.. I can not imagine what kind of sorry life that poor girl went through.. at least they waited until she was 12 instead of a much younger age..

An officer at the Mattani Police Station told The Express Tribune that Kainaat, 17, was shot dead by Qaisar Khan, her brother. Later, Qaisar threw his sister’s body in a well at their home.

This is how it is done the world over.. Breed, become a large segment of the host society, get your faithful elected, and silence all disparaging words either by threats, laws, or killings.. I really am glad I am old and will not be around to sing Allah's praises in places I used to like to go. and I was once a pretty good singer.. now the words escape me.

The social backgrounds and backbones of the islamic, and the grecco-roman peoples do not mesh, and they never will. There are too big of differences between the two cultures that will not be overcome, without a giant step in dismantling core components of the beliefs.

Islam will not change, because it is heresy to change any tenement in the Quran, or go against any word in it.

The western world, or grecco-roman culture will not change, because we have evolved from what we would need to change into to appease the other culture. We have evolved away from throwing gays off of buildings, or lighting people on fire in public, or having our children behead our enemies on the street with rusty knives, or gangraping women to restore their "honor"

It is a shame that people cannot understand this.

Vat? Reunion Island?

Cross another place off the "sweet-retirement-list" spots.

The list of quiet, safe, and not too expensive places is dwindling...

In fact: wish that anyone whom desires it, should be able to live in safety.

Not sure Duterte is one to be lecturing about human rights.

I accept your point but there's a different process in play with these recent converts. They're attracted to this violent theology for a reason that seems to be going unaddressed by the West. Radical Islam and the West will never mesh. In fact, radical Islam will never mesh with any other culture. But the amount of converts seems to me to be a rejection of the system they grew up in and a desire to destroy it. Probably not a unique issue historically but it seems to me it is something that needs to be addressed.

Converts are always the worst...the ones to watch. They have far more to prove than a born Muslim

So you're saying that no Filipinos have any kind of human rights?

That sort of sweeping generalization, doesn't seem to fit with your "No BS" avatar.

I guess it depends on your interpretation of rights.

Vigilio Mirano didn’t stand a chance. On Sept. 27, 2016, Mirano received a letter from local government officials in the Manila slum where he lived with his wife and two children implicating him as a drug user and ordering him to appear at a “mass surrender” ceremony on Sept. 30. Hours later, four armed men dressed in black and wearing face masks burst into his home, dragged him into the outside alley and shot him six times in full view of his horrified family.

That is quite a compelling news article. So much going-on there, that it is very difficult to know what the truth might be.

Sure HRW do their homework as well as possible, but the reality on the streets of Manila is complicated.
For example: still many police groups involved in the drug-trade, and enlisted in protecting drug-lords.
So when a small group of users, or pushers, are to be rounded-up, the drug-lord doesn't want anyone to stool on him, so he has them murdered. Have heard that this is a regular occurrence now, as the drug-lords know that if their name gets-out, they die.
Just because the police were around, doesn't mean the murder was done by Duterte, or his squads.
No source for this, but might be available if someone wants to search.
