I have a feeling that once the fusion centers get their quantum computers up and running that governments local and federal will want you to pipe your data directly into their system so they can better protectyou.

Yeah, me too. That way if one of 'their own' screws up, they know where any other cameras might be, and can 'review the recording' until it comes up blank. Bakersfield cops are renowned for grabbing any camera footage and having all of it 'come up blank'. It's nearly miraculous.

In Bakersfield, they'll tell you that not surrendering your phone is 'obstruction of justice' and arrest you for it.

Damn, that sucks! But we have a pretty good record of routing out bad apples. This city does not put up with that blue line cover-up shenanigans as bad as others. I know of a couple that worked for the Sheriff's department are going down for providing stolen information to a CI for the commission of tax refund fraud recently. It is pretty bad actually, they re pitting the husband against the wife and is a very public case receiving thorough coverage.

More, if they say to themselves, 'Selves, I think this fine citizen may have video evidence which he may at this moment be destroying', then they can force entry into your home or business without warrant under 'exigent circumstances' to recover that evidence. No proof needed, just 'suspicion'.

So when you integrate with them, your cameras get integrated directly into the federal Fusion Centers.

Yeah, I'll pass. I don't have a security system, but if I did, it's not being hotwired (so to speak) into the police's system. If I think I recorded something that may be of use to them, THEN they'll get the footage.
They're not judge, jury & execution on this one, it's my property and therefore I'm the footage JJE.

Well the bad news ANY and ALL cameras connected to the internet are already integrated into the fusion centers, and can be remotely accessed. Remember, its already admitted they can turn on, record, or stream live any connected cameras and microphones. This is simply a voluntary database so that if there was a burglary three houses down, and you did not know about it to check your systems, they can give you a call based on the database registration information and ask your permission to check and see if you got any leads from your saved video.

Well then its good that this program is 100% voluntary, and at no point is remote access given to the police.

I have cameras up and often wondered esp when having a beer or 12, what are the odds this will be the week law enforcement needs the footage, after pissing in the front yard... I do live in the country though and try to never face the camera nor the road. On the plus side I can log in from my phone and watch myself piss if I was into that. LMAO

But seriously, if someone had evidence relating to a crime why wouldn't they already voluntarily turn it over?

They wouldn't if they didn't know a crime occurred on their camera, and if the camera isn't registered with the police, the police may not know the camera exists in the first place in order to ask for footage off of it.

For now, yes, yes it is voluntary.

Until it's not. May never happen, then again, it may.

Color me suspicious. No one get access to my camera's except me--voluntarily. Anyone else? I expect to see warrants.
