I wonder who actually cares about this "news". Rich sports guys get to go to the WH but some think a few of them didn't care to go. End of world it seems.

Your fake news is even worse.

The New England Patriots thankfully corrected an outrageous, politically charged tweet by New York Times Sports which heavily implied that the New England Patriots rebuffed the White House, where they were honored for being the Super Bowl champions this week.

Outrageous? Heavily implied? Here's the "outrageous" tweet:

And this bit:

While Eleanor Mueller updated her “news story” with the Patriots tweet (cached story here), the update is not explained and it is clearly buried. The headline is exactly the same, as is the implication that the New England Patriots took a pass on visiting the White House, a complete fabrication.

Uh, did you look at her story?

The team responded Wednesday evening on Twitter, arguing that the images don't tell the whole story: "These photos lack context. Facts: In 2015, over 40 football staff were on the stairs. In 2017, they were seated on the South Lawn."

The Patriots followed up with another tweet, comparing Wednesday's attendance with a ceremony during former President George W. Bush's tenure: "Comparable photos: The last time the #Patriots won two Super Bowls in three years, 36 players visited the White House. Today, we had 34."

It was "buried?" That picks up right after three short paragraphs and it's followed by like six more. How is that buried? Scratch that, I guess anything could be described as "buried" when one's attention span is exhausted after 5-6 WHOLE SENTENCES. Lmao. Also funny is how the Patriots tried to sidestep reality by referring to their appearance in the Bush 43 years. Why? This is the best part and I want to personally thank you for posting this thread so I could read it:

UPDATE: Patriots say # of players was smaller this year than 2015 (34 vs. 50) but total delegation was roughly the same.

Thanks for posting this, really! Otherwise I would haven't known that 16 fewer Patriots showed up this year to meet the so-called President than did in 2015 to meet Obama. Trump! What a loser! Very sad. #Failing.

Also this is a lie:

And of course (after the damage was done), CNN and NYT did a slow redaction.

Nobody did a redaction did they? Nope? Hell, NYT didn't even have an article, it was a tweet from NY Times Sports of two pictures. They tweeted a response from the Patriots. There was no redaction from CNN for the Eleanor Mueller story either. They updated it with the response from the Patriots. Does that count as one lie or two?

The NFL network even knew this was going to happen.
I watched the ceremony on their network and they ran through the numbers and said that certain news orgs were going to spin this.

Sad when a sports network calls out your political bias BEFORE hand.

You know Mrs Clinton would have been the first woman to greet champions at the white house, if only she had beaten trump.

LOL you act like you discovered gold.

And Brady didn't show up because of prior personal engagements.

He wasn't protesting anything.

Again, I watched the whole thing live on the NFL Network right after they showed a rerun of the Superbowl. I actually got completely unbiased reporting from a network that day.

She would have set a new policy to support cte sufferers, and rescinded the invitation to the super bowl winners.
She would have given the invitation to these champions www.lflus.com...
