If we take that whole terrorism thing as it is presented to us(and don´t look at all the "coincidences", relating to secret services and stuff, at who created, funded and used all those terror groups the last decades), clearly yes. Because we are told that the evil terrorists want to destroy our western, liberal, free and open lifestyle.

And those that tell us, and only have a reason to exist because of terror, they would fight for democracy, our lifestyle and against terrorism, do the work for the terrorists, using that "anti-terrorism" thing as excuse.

The "anti-terror" agencies, the secret services, the whole deep state scum. It are not the terrorists that spy on all of us, destroy our freedom doing so! It are not the terrorists that install surveillance- and police states in the western hemisphere(dressed up as democracies), using terrorism as excuse! It´s not the terrorists that undermine our so called democracy by anti-terror laws!

Oh, i am wrong.
It are terrorists, but not those bearded, sneaker wearing Snackbars of the "IS", that we average people all have to be afraid from.

So yes, terrorism/terrorists wins! Because big brother grows!

Yeah, but look at the way the people are running. I was thinking people having this much fear is a complete failure the US military. The US military was not able to stop 9/11 and obviously the people at home are out of their minds with fear. So people just don't believe the government can protect them. And if the government can't protect us then why are we spending so much money on the military if it does NOTHING.

The problem with expanding empires is the ensuing floods of refugees from war torn regions become so great, whose victimized occupants may or many not be hostile to the state for destroying their homeland, that chaos usually ensues whenever they are further mistreated by their 'new hosts'.

Follow that logic to its forgone conclusion, empires usually implode from within for this and other reasons.

Consider the indigent populations that have to deal with the floods of refugees, their frustration with the cost of endless war their gubment imposes upon them, as well.

The people are feared, everything works for TPTB as planned.

They rule because of the peoples fear and tell them they would be the solution against that fear...

Here in germany, i can´t find one sane person that is feared to become a victim of a terror attack and wants to be protected via total surveillance and a police state. Chances are higher to get hit by a lightning or win the lottery than to become victim of a terror attack, in western nations.

People here have real problems, only low wage slave jobs, rents increasing at high speed, people are threatened from old age poverty, even if they worked 40 or 50 years, warmongerers in "our" government, a growing police- and surveillance state, all those amok running lunatics like Trump, Erdogan and all that neo-nazis all over Europe, the dictatorship of the rich etc, the deep state, just to name some of these real problems people really are affected from.

More and more people realize that the muslim terrorism, if not funded and created by the west, then at least it is the fault of the west, is used to keep the people in fear. So that the people accept the growing police- and surveillance state, even think that it grows to protect them from terrorism...

That is rulers terrorism hidden in plain sight!

Yeah I'd say the terrorists are winning at the moment. They've not only scared the crap out of the average American to the point of acting irrationally; they've also succeeded in drawing successive governments into a protracted war that depletes money, personnel and resources.

Islam is atrocious, certainly in its current interpretation. Socialism is evil too. But both are pawns in some other game. They are tools being wielded for some other purpose.

So far I've only heard conspiracies or singular noticed that don't capture what's actually happening. Frustrating.

Yet, those same people will argue until they're blue in the face that the constant surveillance is for our "safety." Yeah, they think the government can "protect" them, and support every measure taken that is propagandized as being more of that "protection."

They win if our personal freedoms are taken from us with the goal of full security.

I don't think it's solely one thing in particular. It's an amalgamation of things. I agree.

Yup. I'm mostly curious what the driving force is.

I'm speculating that psychopathy could be that force.

The individual theories of Marxism, socialism, atheism, Islam, etc can be countered our approved based on evidence.

But that isn't what's happening.

Instead, they seem to be combined, which accelerates a new culture where accountability seems low and politically charged groups seeing high.

All you need to do to initiate that process is to be unconcerned about the welfare of your fellow man.

I still think this needs refinement, but I think I'm on the right track. Better than the Builderbirgs (spelling?) or aliens.
