How any band with only one original member can still call itself by it's original name is beyond me.
Kinda the same deal with AC/DC also.

If that one remaining member is the founder of the band, they can use the name. I don't know who the originator of the name was though. Sometimes bands break up and the rest of the band doesn't care about the original name and move on and form their own bands with a new name.

Yea I know. Look at Bobby Blotzer and RATT, hope i got the name right.
BTW you are the most adorable and kindest ATS member IMHO. You should definitely be a mod here. I feel honored to have you reply to my thread. Thanks.

My parents listened to Deep Purple when I was a child(in the 80's), as a result I learned to appreciate great music ( and my favorite genre).

This is my favorite song by them.

Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words! I didn't even know that you knew I existed. LOL

I have moderated other forums in past years, but not a site as huge as this. It's more fun just being a member.

I enjoy most music threads and this one brought back memories. Thanks for that!

Sorry, without Lord/Blackmore it aint DP.

The irreducible minimum of that band.

It's like Come Taste The Band...great album.

Just not DP.

Outstanding, they still got it. Reminds me of Yes, Almond Brothers, Rush.

Saw them live at Shoreline Amphitheater, way back. Solid, live performance band.

My thoughts exactly, check my post above for the expanded 2 cd edition.

There are 3 , Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice although without Ritchie Blackmore it aint really Deep Purple.
Nevertheless it gives people who never got to see Purple a chance to see most of the band and enjoy the classics.

The original Deep Purple where Richie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Nick Simpler Rod Evans and Ian Paice.

Only Paice is in the current line up.
Who is Ian Paice? Do you mean Ian Gillan? Seriously you need to brush up on your music history if you are not able to even name the right names. Just a suggestion.

You are either making yourself look very foolish or you don't know your Deep Purple.

This is Ian Paice.

Ian Anderson Paice (born 29 June 1948) is an English musician, best known as the drummer of the English rock band Deep Purple. He is the only member to appear on every album the band has released

And this is Ian Gillan

Before you make yourself look a prat again, check your facts first.
