How any band with only one original member can still call itself by it's original name is beyond me.
Yea I know. Look at Bobby Blotzer and RATT, hope i got the name right.

If that one remaining member is the founder of the band, they can use the name. I don't know who the originator of the name was though. Sometimes bands break up and the rest of the band doesn't care about the original name and move on and form their own bands with a new name.
My thoughts exactly, check my post above for the expanded 2 cd edition.

Outstanding, they still got it. Reminds me of Yes, Almond Brothers, Rush.
Saw them live at Shoreline Amphitheater, way back. Solid, live performance band.
Who is Ian Paice? Do you mean Ian Gillan? Seriously you need to brush up on your music history if you are not able to even name the right names. Just a suggestion.

There are 3 , Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice although without Ritchie Blackmore it aint really Deep Purple.
Nevertheless it gives people who never got to see Purple a chance to see most of the band and enjoy the classics.
The original Deep Purple where Richie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Nick Simpler Rod Evans and Ian Paice.
Only Paice is in the current line up.
