Don't worry. I am about to share with ya'll a compilation of information on The Endocannabinoid System and Diabetes. Today. Then it will be Alzheimer's. Then maybe the skin.

Apologies, I'm no expert.

But, as a nurse, I've never known anyone with T2D to inject insulin.

Apparently it is sometimes necessary but it's rare. In Britain anyway.

It may be due to obesity levels in the US.

We're very much bronze medalists when it comes to obesity.

My husband has type 2, and he ended up with a doctor who put him on insulin even though his Janumet, a metformin hybrid of sorts, was working fine. The insulin injections were extremely painful, burning at the injection spot, and it pushed his blood sugar way up. The more insulin, the more dangerously it rose.
He changed doctors, told the new doc what worked, he's back on the Janumet, and his sugar levels are back to perfect, and partly controlled by diet.

How does he know his glucose levels are perfect? Does he have a CGM? I bet he still has postprandial hyperglycemia all the time. Janumet doesn't address the underlying problem of beta cell failure and loss of the first-phase insulin response, it just puts a bandaid on the issue until it gets worse.

Perfect is an exaggeration a bit, but he tests daily, and goes for the lab tests - A1C and other basics. It does fluctuate wildly, but it's controlled on the low side better. It's the numbers that are perfect, not how it behaves. He keeps glucose tablets nearby in case it drops too low.

Nearly two years since I started this thread and on January 14th FDA released a new report on Potential Signals of Serious Risks/New Safety Information Identified by the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System, and cutaneous amyloidosis is listed and FDA is evaluating the need for regulatory action.
