That has always been my view of him. Hitler's main problem was he had no persistence in anything good within him. Something that is always mentioned is that he wanted to be a painter; he also wanted to be a a priest at one time in his life as well.

He threw both of those desires aside and became the leader of a nation which was suffering much. I blame the Treaty of Versailles for the second world war as much as I do anything else.

Perhaps this is part of the reason why we have so many troubles around the world. Because people would put evil men en par with true legends who wanted to confront evil.

I am pretty certain that today's Nazis also say that "Hitler was a great man, a legend". Until we stop treating people who caused so much suffering and death to innocent people as "being legends and great", the world will continue to be in the crapper it is these days.

I am not saying you are a Nazi btw. What I am saying is that today's Nazis would also use the argument that "Hitler was a legend, etc, etc" to try to continue the "legacy" of a murderous villain who doesn't even deserve to be called human.

It really isn't as simple as what you would like it to be.

Hitler was a fascinating man. He had the ability to go from a criminal coming out of jail to leading an entire country in lock step.

And you don't wonder about the man? You don't wonder about the mind that control and entire country?

I think anyone who was alive at that time would be interested to know who the man Hitler was.

I do not take this to mean that he will emerge as a good man or even without the hate. I simply take this as the hatred will be overshadowed by the significance of who he was.

Let's be real.. although Hitler was talented...

We have to remember that the Germans were in awful shape after WWI.. the mark was worth nothing and was better used for fire to keep the house warm.

The country was starving, the citizens were without work, and the quality of life was worse than it had ever been.

All Hitler had to do was just give people hope, he could sell them anything he wanted as long as it meant food on the table and prosperity.

The people were hungry for a tomorrow
