appologies for the " double reply " - but i miss read your post - and ignored the first bit

this gold is ALLEDGED to be a cache from WWII japanese thefts

why the hell would the japanes authorities create and hid a fake replica of thier stolen gold ?

and even more illogically - use tungsten - which would have been of far more use to thier war ecconomy than a " hoax " aimed at - who exactly ?????

wow - i learn something new - i didnt google it - but simply assumed that " cambodia " didnt sit right for WWII era - and expected " kampuchea "

ETA - the above assumes that the bars were of cambodian origin - if recast by the japanes - i would have expected japanese markings

And the value would be greatly affected. There's a chain of ownership tied to gold and mints who buy it need to be able to trace that ownership. Otherwise, you could lose up to 60% of value on the open market.

open market?...you don't need an "open market" to get full value for your gold.

Arabia, China, and India, all desperate for gold, no loss there.
