The United States has five secret military bases in Israel, according to a new book published recently in the U.S.

'"Code Names," written by journalist William Arkin, a former U.S. intelligence official, says there have been secret ties between the U.S. and Israel since the September 11, 2001 attacks.'

The site I saw this at was only a link to try and sell the book, but I was surprised to learn of these 5 bases. I know there's bases all over the world we are not aware of, but these 5 I'm sure are not making our enemies in the middle east very happy (and I'm sure their intelligence people probably are already aware of these bases)......if not, all they need to do is find the info on the internet because we have always been good at getting our secrets to our enemies, or at least the media is good at it!

I think that tagline is used for shock value. I doubt these bases actually exist. Maybe the U.S. has a few small facilities but I doubt they hold more than 100 people.

Jeez, I'd hope that the US has bases in Israel. The whole rationale for supporting it (at least the geo-strategic rationale) is to use it as an invasion axis and staging area for militaryoperations.

Of course, there are other reasons to support Israel, but thats a pretty big one.

5 bases built in 3 years, without anyone noticing? Eh, sorry but I need more proof then a book saying it.

A base need not be a very large facility tho if you think about it.

Don't have muchexperience building secret military bases, but I wouldn't be surprised if five could be build in secret in three years. Its not on the face absurd anyway.

Well, now it's 5 not-so-secret bases in Israel!

If the U.S. indeed have these bases and someone wrote a book on it, then someone screwed up along the way!

P.S. The author, assuming it's true, should some how "come up missing" if you ask me!

Like I said earlier, the media in their greedy quest for a story or to beat someone else to a story, could care less if they endanger every American citizen. There should be rules that govern there behavior during times of war (some sort of ammendment to Freedom of Speech that protects our citizens). If we as citizens decided to divulge military secrets, we'd be found to be traitors and probably shot!!

i'm sure the guy found out about the bases from a jewish person....they cannot be trusted and i'm sure they were doing it for the money. you can never turn your back

I flipped thru that book yesterday. Some of it's interesting, but some isn't so much of a big deal.

Check out Palace Chase. It's an AF code word alright. It's when a guy might have, say, two years left on his enlistment and decides to go into the Guard or Reserve for double what's left (in this case, four years).

er, ok, strange thing to be glad about

....they cannot be trusted

But moronic racists can right?

and i'm sure they were doing it for the money.

Everyone does everything for money. Hitler, for example, had huge personal debts that he couldn't pay and used his unfluence to make it so he didn't have to pay back the money he borrowed.

you can never turn your back

Yeah ok. idiot.

i'm sure the "debts" he had were to jewish run companies that were trying to financially destroy him....it was just a typical get rich quick scheme they employed....i'm not an idiot, i'm homeless

Isn't the entire state of Israel pretty much a "not so secret" US military base, in essence?

I mean really, I'm sure Israel would never object to US forces deploying from there to any part of the Middle East, hehe.....

U.S. Has 5 Secret Military Bases in Israel

If this revelation proves to be even remotely true: So what? Who cares? Whats the big deal with this?
Good grief, anyone can claim a "secret" revealed and name some numbered sites to back what his or her are asserting. No wonder this moron is ex-intelligence. IMHO, everytime one of these "ex"-intelligence guys opens thier collective mouths to reveal an alleged "secret," they should be prosecuted because it goes against their creedo and vows (at time of joining and at time of departure). Obviously he is not going to be prosecuted. Why? Probably because what he is asserting is relatively bogus and having little to no factual merit. And even "if" it did have merit, again, who gives a crap?

5 bases figure they would have more than that?

Guess the "lilly pads" are being created at a quick rate.

But guess the person revieling this information is not to happy with his "commador in chief". And for the press to revial this info is what you call "free press" what's left of it....and thanx to the people that work hard to get the facts out....(we honor you people for that)...esp. during times of war

But to stress that this is a "time of war" is just stupid talk if y'a ask me, we should sit down at the kitchen table and talk to our enemy'zzzzzzz, would be a lot more logical and stop the killing on both sides? Yes/no?

Or we should just do it like the old day'z.....get the "commander in cheif" t'a be in a battle for a change...maybe then Bush would get the respect 100% from all the soldiers and he would not have this broblem with guy'z blabbing secret info.

Y'r Canadian friend,
Sven

So those goddamn Americans would have something in Israel's masacre on Palestinian nation.
Nah, everything is possible, even the impossible thing.

William Arkin: The US Army has at least five bases in Israel, including one at Ben Gurion Airport, and one in Herzliya Pituah.

The author revealed information about the U.S. Army bases at secret locations inside Israel and said that these bases are called “sites” and are numbered Site 51, Site 53, Site 54, Site 55, and Site 56. He indicated that other unspecified “sites” exist, but didn’t explicitly state them.

The publication of the book enforces the saying by the late Republican Senator Jesse Helms that Israel is the U.S. aircraft carrier in the Middle East and that this fact explains the military aid which the United States grants Israel every year.

So Souljah, how do you feel about Bush's recent seeking of hundreds of millions in aid to Palestinians?

I'm no Bush fan...but the above is kind of funny, hehe....

Israel is not a big place, if there are 5 bases there they sure as heck arn't secret!

I agree with the idea its just to sell the book.

Afterall you never have to answer to "where are these bases" because the answer is "I can't tell you, they are secret.".
